I spent so many hours on this game. So simple but absolutely bursting with atmosphere. It was 2 quid as well. Yes - 2 quid - brand new. It actually got great reviews at the time, but I seemed to be the only one at my school who owned it. EDIT: Just realized that came out 25 years ago! Jeez.

Tried to think of something more recent but I've never had much to spend on games, so I usually end up buying the "must haves" that everybody has heard of.

Dark Messiah - great game powered by the Source engine. Did decent physics and swordplay wayyy before Skyrim.

A game that me and a friend spent a lot of hours on that i really enjoyed was Insurgency, it was a free download from steam, not sure if it still is though.

FPS that focused on the gulf war, but had a great aspect of realism to it. Based on the source engine i believe

It might be a different story on the PC, but when I rented it on the Xbox 360 the combat felt horrendous and clunky to use. The only part I really enjoyed is the execution moves.

Ive remembered another game -hostages on the amiga, great game.

I don't remember finishing many games back then. Don't know if it was because the Games were harder, I was lazy or the disks would break!
