Agree with most people on here....would love my postie to drop parcels off like that instead of me having to go and collect them most of the time. If i was the van driver and you moaned about the loud music i would tell you where to go tbh my van my music and its not against the law to have it on like that

Read thread, profit.

Lock the thread please, I made my thoughts clear at post 53.

Sorry moothead sometimes I forget things, on this rare occasion I did in fact forget to lock the door. I can't be as perfect as you.

Use your grey matter. There is playing music at a level you can hear and then there is playing music at a level the whole street can hear.

Guy delivers parcels all day from a van. Stone him for liking his music turned up loud.

I agree he shouldnt have opened your door, its annoying for me as when I first moved in neighbours thought they could just walk in here, people I'd become friends with that is... So i've started locking my door.

but the music thing, Seems like you were in a huff already and decided to drop on something which to be honest, is none of your business. I would have laughed if you'd have mentioned my music to be honest.

someone people leave the door unlocked (held by the catch) when expecting an early parcel.

not something I'd do my self but have known people to do before.

edit: oh if you left your front door unlocked he probbaly noticed when it moved when he knocked and assumed that you wanted the parcel leaving inside, or that something was wrong.

I didn't say anything about the music, it was my father. The reason he went out and spoke to the driver. If people would only read.... oh and it was loud, without hearing it you can't really comment on the severity of it to be honest, this is coupled with the fact he didn't have the time to wait 30 seconds for me but had the time to sit outside my door.

Yes he was playing music at a reasonable level. No it was loud enough the whole street heard it and it woke my father. Do you honestly think he was "just" playing music?

No, I reasonably suspect that he had an entire metal band in the back of the van, with speakers and amps.

You sound like a bit of a busy body to be honest.

Me? You think 3 minutes is not unreasonable to wait, so the man put your package though your open door, and you're complaining about it. And you think that your dad being woken up by music, because he chooses to sleep when everyone else is awake, is unreasonable. Nobody is forcing your dad to work night shift.

its the middle of the day your dad needs to chill, anyone can do whatever they want during the day with their music

Not really, just people reiterating the same points over and over in different ways in an attempt to get an opinion across without reading all of my responses and then forming retorts to work me up even further. I honestly don't know why I continued responding after post 53.

Anyway that's it, my last response on this subject as the conclusion is that I am a paranoid busy body with far too much time on their hands. Sigh, that's it the sum of my person in one thread. Oh well.

This is why people dont bother trying to help anyone anymore. You try and help someone out (As I suspect the delivery driver was doing) and youwant to do is get there name and phone thier supervisor.

Ok, the loud music might get your back up. But dont assume just becuase you think its unacceptable that everyone else does too.

I can see why you would be annoyed to be honest, but I think the driver was just trying to do you a favour. Saying that I personally don't think it's right for someone to just open my door.

Also lots of people are posting asking why your door was not locked, do you all lock the door when you are in the house?

If I'm in the house I don't lock myself in as family or friends might pop round, just having your door unlocked does not mean that it's an invitation for the delivery driver to open it.

The whole music thing tho, that's a bit much. Not everyone works night shift so I think that was a bit overboard.
