How long til we see 2TB portables?

Evening all.

I'm after a 2TB external hard drive. I'd much prefer a portable drive but there aren't any about at the moment, only big desktop ones. Any ideas how long til we'll be seeing these in the shops for a reasonable price?

I don't mind waiting a few months, but if it's going to be nearer a year then I don't think I have the patience and will end up getting a desktop version!

Really?

I don't think it's that long ago that we got 1TB 2.5" HDD's.

A 2TB drive would seem a fair way off.

I think there was a 1TB drive which was 2 x 500GB in RAID 0.

Perhaps there is/will be a 2TB drive with 2 x 1TB drives in RAID 0.

Not sure if such a thing could be powered without an external source though.
