It's opinion, whether I'm wrong or right isn't my issue, all I was trying to say is, I don't consider it a hot hatch, e.g. if I wanted to buy a hot hatch, I wouldn't buy a Focus ST. Simple as that
 
Focus ST's are the definition of a 'hot hatch'. I don't understand how you think it can't be? Thats the whole reason they made it.....to compete in the hot hatch market.

But it is a Hot hatchback. The Focus is a hatchback, the ST is the hot version, therefore it is a hot hatchback.

How you can say a Golf GTI is a hot hatchback and a Focus ST isnt is beyond me. They are both the same class of car and they are both the fast/hot versions.

Well it's because as he said, the Fiesta ST exists, so the Focus ST can't be a hot hatch. A problem the Golf GTI doesn't have because the Polo GTI doesn't exi... oh... erm... :confused:

What's your point exactly? Because you can fit four people in a Focus ST, doesn't make it a hot hatch?
 
If I buy a Focus ST I'll fold the rear seats down because then only 2 people can sit in it making it a true hot hatch in addition to the extra weight distribution advantages that only folding of seats can achieve.

If I wanted a fast-family car I may consider a Focus ST (or RS if the budget permitted)

If I wanted a hot hatch I'd buy a Golf GTi

You do realise the Golf and the Focus are both small family hatchbacks?
