Who here has been to Nandos?

Around here there is a massive hype about it, not sure if this is a local thing or a national. Probably made worse because a new one opened last week.

I've gone 3 times now and it's nice, chicken is tasty. But I don't see why it has this massive hype.
I'm only 17 so I imagine people my age would rather have this casual dining (border line of fast food I feel) then a 'proper restaurant'.

Only heard of it also within the last year or so.

Thoughts?

I've been a few times and guess most people here have as well. It's nice but at the end of the day its just...... chicken and chips :p

I went there for the first time last year @ the Bluewater branch, it was nee but nothing to to write home about.

Been going for years (long before they had branches all over the place). Went to the Bayswater one back in the days and have been to loads of other branches since. I'd go for Nandos over a Maccy Ds or BK any day (considering their [McD/BK] prices been increasing a lot).

Love it, I go to the Exeter or Plymouth one about once a week. I don't like chicken on the bone though so it's just pittas/burgers/wraps or butterfly breast for me. :o

Had to give up the houmous dip as it was causing me to put on a fair bit of weight.

you will be surprised to find the veggie stuff at nando's is really good, for example the beanie pitta - hot.

the olives with garlic to start and some spicy cashews.

also the best side is peri peri chips.

i have the above a lot because i prefer my chicken off the bone.

Nando's has been around for years (I think I went the first time about 10 years ago) and do like it. Certainly I'd choose it over proper fast food.

My record is 3 whole chickens :o

I have had a double chicken burger or whatever they call it, this was a take away though so wasn't the best really.
The butterfly breast is nice though I feel like for what you get the 1/2 chicken is better value, though I do also prefer chicken off the bone

Had the chicken wrap things when I went there last, and wasn't overjoyed with the size of them - it was one wrap cut in half and it wasn't even a big one to start off with.

Nice tasting though.

I don't go often but I do love it whenever I go.

Always have the same as well, half chicken, peri peri chips, coleslaw and corn on the cob.

I do need to go and have a whole chicken one day though.

FF, 3 is insane but oh so right. :D

argh the chili jam in the wraps is heaven

but an xtra hot half chicken and garlic bread for me please!

been going to nando's for over 15 years now, love there food and would chose it over most meals.

freefaller,your a pig :)

only have a whole chicken with rice and chips.

It's a good compromise between fast food and proper restaurant dining.

Perfect place for work nights out and first dates when you're younger I think.

There's something comforting about having the meal all paid for by the time you eat as well, but maybe it's just me that gets anxiety about card payment problems after you've eaten the meal.

Also I'm never sure about tipping etiquette at these places.
