Hi,

I'm looking at replacing my C300 64GB with a new SSD. I'm looking for the 256GB versions (Intel 240GB).

Both the Corsair M4 and Intel 520 seem to be similarly priced - Intel being better speced but I know in real world situations this probably does not mean much.

Which one would you go for?

In my opinion the m4 is tried and tested which is why I bought one. And it appeared to me as solid as it comes with good support.

If I wree to buy again tomorrow it owuld be a tough call between the M4/Intel and possibbly the Samsung 830. Would probably still go M4.

Loads of happy M4 users here. Probably the most popular drive on the forums so far. *Pats his M4 :)*

ya - main thing m4 lacks is the writes compared to the 520 ... but the price tag and the unknown for the intel sandforce ...

Id still choose the m4 again ...

Well, it's not like you'll be writing on the drive a lot anyway, that would be very bad for the SSD health :p.

If you look closely a lot of other drives' write speeds are burst speeds.

In any even once you installed everything on the M4, whcih is very quick, it's all about the read speeds and reliability.

Depends how much you can get the M4 or Intel 520 for.

I got my 256GB M4 for... £211? A few months ago.

For every 100GB I'd say there's a £5 of value for the Intel (£3 for the 64GB, £6 for the 128GB etc.) simply for the additional 2 years of warranty.
The speeds will not be noticably different.

I agree - once you have everything installed it's the read speed that matters.

The 128GB M4 looks to be very good value - I'm considering going for that instead.
