BenQ XL2420T Now available

Anyone tried the 3D? What's the 3D performance like?

I got the XL2410T about a year ago and the 3D was probably its weakest feature. Far too much cross talk. If its a significant improvement I might be tempted to upgrade but can't find any reviews commenting on the 3D yet.

Its really good on the games that are compatible with it. Some titles have a more pronounced effect than others and if you follow what the Nvidia profile says when you start up game you do have a generally good experience with it.

Some of the pronounced effect games are WOW and just cause 2, where objects literally appear to float in mid air in front of the monitor. Less pronounced games are skyrim (which adds tonnes of depth perception instead) and BF3, which makes sniping a doddle as you can tell exactly how far the enemy is away from you :D

Just about to order, but should I be worried about dead / stuck pixels? I'm guessing they are rare?

I know if I get one I can always return using DSR, but that sounds like quite a hassle.

Oh really? Hmm liking the sound of that :p

my pc boots so fast with the ssd by the time i turn the monitor on and it does the pink flash screen windows is loaded :D

I have to say, that is one of the most negative things I can think about regarding this monitor. The startup time is pretty damn long. When I haven't touched my pc for a while and Windows has automatically put the monitor in stand-by and I try to snap out of it by moving the mouse, it can take up to 6-8 seconds or so. It's quite the wait compared to some other monitors, which sometimes worked in like 1 second.. :p

Still better than an old CRT we had at home like 10 years ago, took about 2 minutes before it finally showed an image :D

I agree, my old monitor used to turn on instantly so I notice the differnece a lot, but it's a minor fault more than made up for in other areas.

when i go to setup and view current information, its says its running at 60htz ?

Are you using the dual link DVI cable supplied with the monitor?

HDMI or some old single link DVI cable you have lying around won't do 120Hz.

If you have, for example, a HD 6xxx series graphics card you need to ensure the dual link DVI cable is plugged into the dual link DVI connector on the card.

One of the connectors is only single link.

oooooo well i have a 570GTX and im using the supplied cable, can others check what it says in there monitor setup

I have a MSI GTX 570 and mine is running at 120hz all the time. Go to Nvidia control panel and on the change resolution page make sure you're using a PC resolution, not the HD 1080p as I think that one is 60hz max.

Sounds like you haven't set it in windows like mentioned above as it reports you can obtain 120hz and mine says 120hz on both which it should do.
