I think if you had any respect for your body you just wouldn't do it.
Since Scotland introduced a ban on smoking in public places in 2006 there has been a 10% drop in the country's premature birth rate, say researchers.
They believe this is a smoke-free benefit that can be chalked up alongside others, like reductions in heart disease and childhood asthma.
So smokers, you might as well carry on because you've already done the damage.
Because we choose to

Illegalize tobacco and alcohol.
Legalize weed.
Then instead of war we will only have peace and love!
you have hit the nail on the head. you only feel relaxed by getting the hit. you feel less relaxed when you are due a cigarette. people think nicotine is a relaxant but its not. its a stimulant
My Mum was a 20 a day faghead from the age of 16 but when she was 50 gave up overnight and total respect to her.
She is now 75 and suffering quite bad from an illness called COPD which was caused by smoking all those years ago.

I did give into alcohol due to peer pressure, but never touched the tobacco or weed.
How people who will do absolutely everything that their peers do yet still manage to survive in this world amazes me, I should get popular somehow and start advising teens / young adults that jumping off tall buildings and surviving will make you cool, and is the only way to be accepted as a cool awesome guy or gal by me.
Wait .... forget about the needing to be famous part, I'll just say that anyway for the lulz![]()
It's both, they aren't mutually exclusive.
not really. the relaxing comes from receiving a hit. nicotine actually makes your heart beat faster.
+1.I would imagine it is for the same reason as why you drink.
you could argue to picked the most damaging one. alcohol does more damage to society than all drugs and ciggies combined.
how many stoned people (who werent schitzos anyway) go scrapping on fri/sat nights? they are too busy spending £20 on munchies from the 24/7 shops!![]()
I'm not starting an anti smoking thread or one to judge, but I am quite interested as why smokers actually smoke.
I admit I have tried one myself, it tasted awful, made me cough and my clothes smelt like hell until they went through the wash. This is my own personal opinion, and I respect that of a smoker.
I can some up with many reasons why you shouldn't, but none why you should. Since they are very expensive, there must be a reason.
Please educate me as I'd like to understand it from your side
oh, and before anyone says addiction....you aren't addicted until you smoke a few
Thanks
