Don't let the soilcitor drag their heels, keep on at them as much as you can.

this, most don't give a damn unless you keep a check on them.

Echoing the statements about your Dad. I'm sure he would be very happy knowing that your inheritance has been spent on this marvellous house. £92k an extremely reasonable mortgage nowadays as well. Could clear it easy within 15 years.

Whats that complex to the east of your marker on the map?

RAF Base I believe, although I'm not sure it's active any more. If it's like Stafford, then the MOD will have taken over it anyway.

May well have one if the Mrs isn't there, she wouldn't be keen on that at all!

I'm sure he would have been proud too, he was always astute with money and I'd like to think I am the same, or at least on the way to being.

We've taken that out over 30 years to start with to give us two years of low payments (we got the mortgage at 2.7%) to furnish the property and fund my garage door idea. I'm also about to change jobs and stand to earn a little more than I currently do, so in two years I hope to remortgage at 15 years with minimal overpayment penalties.

Home cinema? Pfffft! I don't have any interest in such a thing, I don't even own a television at the moment. The garage will be a workshop, mainly for fixing my horrendously unreliable BMWs - the removal of the column is so I can park a car in the middle, drop the doors and work in warmth - currently my drive is cold, wet and miserable for working on the car.

Woooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! All completed, everyone paid, Land Registry updated, vendors vacated... the house is ours!!!

Picking up the keys this avro - cannot wait :D

great news :D

being as they've vacated don't forget to go have a good look around it before you start moving stuff in.

I have a team of very willing cleaners* ready to blitz the place before we even think about moving anything in. We've also got to pack up our current house - we have until 28th April to vacate to will be taking our time and making sure everything is grand before we move in. Not looking forward to defrosting the freezer.

* Both of our mothers cannot wait to get inside and have a good nose about - both have offered to help** with the cleaning too.

** Do the cleaning. Whilst I sit on the decking in the sun. With a beer. Epic win.
