** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

Yes it can take a day or so :(

Well Karazhan was easy (except for the stoopid Chess Event of course). Now on to Northrend Heroics. Hopefully soloable!

What's happening with Bans Hammer? Has everyone splintered off to Alliance? or completely moved to a different server?

The active members of Bans Hammer left.

Others will know more then me, but due to a disagreement between the Guild Leader of Bans Hammer and the most active officer in the alliance. A new Guild has been created on the Alliance side on Frostmane called Community.

Up to about 30ish members with many including myself (Reapszero) levelling a new char. We had 15 on the other night so slowly increasing.

More then happy to send Scrolls out if needed.

Basically this;

Community is a very friendly, fun and social levelling guild for people. We hope to get enough active top level players so that we can PvP and do some PvE content together.

We're on Frostmane, Alliance :)

My character is a Gnome Mage (of which we have loads of mages for some random reason :D) called Lexical, almost anyone can get you involved and there are always people online.

The members we've got online have really surprised me, they're all really nice guys.

I wouldnt mind joining the guild if you dont mind . Thinking of rolling a gnome lock . Not played on ally side since before TBC . Plus i have a scroll if anybody needs one .:)

Do it! :)

Frostmane, Alliance!

FYI anyone in 'Community' can invite people in to the Guild :)

There are always active members so you need not worry about struggling to get an invite.

fancy levelling a new toon but cant decide between a paladin or a hunter

i play mostly solo all the time and like to do as many quests as possible.

i have all the looms for both.

is a hunter MUCH easier to level than a paladin?

id rather play a paladin but im concerned certain quests i wont be able to solo.

leveled every class in game except rogue and paladin is easier to just pick up and play, hunter potentially is easier but requires more work on macros for misdirect and other things i have found, on my pala i basically made 1 macro and level 1-64 in 2 days it was a simple macro for crusader strike which makes you auto attack afterwards sometimes it wont melee for few seconds until press next button otherwise.

I appreciate that but at the end of the day, I only really play WoW for the PvE aspect and when I do PvP I prefer to go in a battleground for it or be able to choose my encounters rather than have trouble with some small-weinered adolescent griefer. :(

If OcUK ever starts an RP or PvE guild i'll undoubtedly join, might be able to bring an awesome healer with me too (my missus). :) Until then i'm going to pass, but good luck with the guilds, both of you.

No problem, should you change your mind I'm sure both guilds will welcome you both :).

I've always gotten pretty lucky on PvP servers and managed to avoid excessive ganking but I do prefer battlegrounds and arena to open world.

While I understand how **** getting 'ganked' is, don't let it put you off.

I've levelled on PvP servers all my Warcraft life (since first release) and it's not bothered me too much. Saying that, it was ****ing terrible levelling in Vanilla WoW sometimes :p Southshore PvP anyone?! haha

Would be nice if you could nip over and meet the Community and see if you do like it, might be surprised.

Ganking isn't really much of a problem. You'll only be killed occasionally, it shouldn't put you off. Trust me.

What about if I also told you i'm in the business end of the 3rd year of an Engineering degree? I've got a packed month, maybe i'm telling myself it's the PvP putting me off when instead it's just me getting scared of getting addicted again? :p

Nonsense :p

Log in to your Battle.net account > Parental controls and set yourself to only play for XX hours a week ;) or night or what not.

That sounds more likely!

You'll not have a problem with it and I can come and help you if someone is being a particular pain in the arse.

pvp realms do pve almost exclusively, the only difference between pvp and pve is that you can get ganked whilst leveling lol

Been levelling a Shaman for the last couple of weeks and I haven't seen any alliance whilst playing. (Chromaggus - admittedly a dead server) It's a shame really, I enjoy a bit of open world PvP, even if it means getting ganked occasionally.

not really world pvp when somones main who for some weird reason is in some low zone rofl stomps your lvl 20 char and corpse camps you then you log your main and they realise your a full pvp geared main and run away on their flyer. Thats my experience of so called world pvp these days gone are the days of bg entrance ganking and southshor battles.
