OEM - does that mean short warranty?

Thats pretty bad news for us the "consumer", do you think this is claw back some revenue after the floods?

I'm gonna have to just go for it lol, 2 years is better than one I guess. Was tempted to go for the 3TB, but I already have a couple of 2TB so might as well just stick with the same for now

I'd say it's at least part of it but it's not the spin Seagate put on it:

I thought anything OEM meant that the warranty was with the end product vendor and not the manufacturer of the hard drive?

I tried to RMA a dead OEM Dell laptop HDD and the warranty was refused.

So your warranty maybe direct with OCuK.
