*** Mass Effect 3 ***

sorry the top bar so it would be 3.3k going to try and see the 4k ending one

About the same as mine then. Let us know how the 4k ending goes, there's conflicting reports on whether reloading from the save before you start the final push actually works to get a different ending or not.

Just completed it. That'll take a while to process.

I'd read elsewhere that there is 17 different endings?
What numbers did you all end up with going into the end battle?
Before hitting Cerberus:
Total Military strength: 7010
Readiness rating 50%
Effective Military Strength: 3505
That bar at the bottom was all green and 100%
No Multiplayer

People mentioned ammo/guns again, yup, said earlier that ME1 had too many drops, when they could have replaced 50% of the drops simply with cash instead and made life simpler even with the same interface, a new interface and it would be completely fixed.

In ME3 there is little to no effective difference between weapons, a ridiculously low cost to upgrade weapons and the ability to upgrade your weapon straight away. For me the best combo of damage/accuracy/weight rifle is not far into the game, so I had my "end game" weapon in the first few hours. SMG took longer but I never used it, it was worthless, there is ammo EVERYWHERE. Not only did I barely run out of ammo, I barely ever had below 3/4 of my ammo full.

A proper system with drops/buying weapons and stuff in ME1 gave great pacing in damage/upgrades from start to finish AND encouraged switching between weapons. You might be a rifle build mainly but currently have a hugely better sniper rifle so use that instead.

As for the endings again I'll point out the most disappointing part of it

Everything in the game to a degree, was based around talking people into/out of actions, yet the end game, the FINAL decision with a new lifeform/reaper/catalyst/whatever it was, that is responsible for EVERYTHING in probably 150-200hours of gameplay.......... and you can't talk to it?

Crap choices ignored, not being able to talk to it AT ALL is the single worst game decision I've EVER seen. Who are you, who made you, why are you convinced synthetics will always destroy their creators(when more than one major game storyline is reaching peace with synthetics), and a million other things. Not being able to talk the guy into a "better" ending, or some reasonable logical endings is absurd.

Someone also said the build up was brilliant to the end but, personally I thought the whole, we'll land, destroy something lose 60% of the forces trying to land, and just have a rest. Earth is completely occupied and Reapers can land anywhere and kill just about everyone almost instantly...... but somehow the whole crew(bar Joker) is planetside and standing around... then magically back on the ship.

The whole "reapers are super powerful and can take over a system instantly" but then take their times and somehow at first there is no defence from them at all, but a resistance lasts...... well theres basically zero indication of time from start to finish of the game, leave earth come back, days, weeks, months later, god knows. Reapers ripping Turians to pieces, the Turian homeworld is ON FIRE ALREADY, but they are banging on about if they lose the moon.... they'll lose the homeworld. The Turian fleet can't fight the Reapers but stay there dying... and still have a massive fleet later in the game?

The end was horrific in so many ways that made the ending completely at odds with everything Mass effect, but the background story of ME3 just made no sense, had no scale, and was completely illogical.

Oh lastly, I have to stumble/slow walk for AGES, but once I start firing I can suddenly stand up straight and walk fast, or RUN at a beam of energy, eh? Also, bullets, they do SOOO much more damage when standing up tall and standing right next to the thing you know will explode? I'm firing at something I am trying to blow up.... so let me walk closer to it.... who, why, what, when........... so stupid.

Would have to agree with a lot of these comments. Upto the end it was a fantastic game, I actually thing they got the gameplay spot on for this final one. Then the final 15 minutes, ouch :p - still some interesting ideas though, just not exectued particularly well.

From ashes already on disc?
Crap like this will only keep happening if people keep buying.
And I still don't get the ending stuff, is there 3 endings or 6 endings, is multiplayer needed or what?

Re the combat, I've actually found it quite easy to run out of ammo at least on the early missions when you're trying to take out Guardians equipped with riot shields. The other irritation is your companions either just stand there with an enemy right next to them not doing anything, or ignore an instruction to use their powers.

Also playing as a soldier in ME1 or ME2 you still had access to some biotic powers, but it appears in ME3 if you select soldier you are limited to hardware only.

I'm sure I've picked up some weapon grades but can't get these to appear on the weapon bench back on the Normandy.

wouldnt bother i think all that happens is anderson lives, shep always dies from what i can tell, the 3 choices at the end are all the same apart from the colour of the explosion and who gets out of the normandy.

I'm pretty sure most people surviving is still down to loyalty missions from ME2. It certainly is for some of them.

legion and mordin died in me3 for me but i did everything with them in 2 - not bothered they were both **** characters and would have happily shot them myself.:p
wouldnt mordin die regardless if you choose to not spread the cure? bc he gets blown up?
same with Legion since you make the choice to not let the geth have the super powers and he throws a paddy bc hes a massive douchbag.

For my game, I know that Mordin and Thane will definitely die. Grunt, Jack and Jacob can die depending on loyalty from ME2 and certain choices in ME3. Miranda I am not sure, I know she can die, but can be saved if you do something in ME3, I am not sure how loyalty affects it.

Not encountered Tali or Legion yet.

......I just wished I had saved Kelly Chambers:(

Here are the endings(yes there are spoilers but it is obvious):

It all depends on your effective Readiness level. You need 4000 points to get the best ending, and there is one ending unlocked after that at 5000 points, but in the SP mission it is fixed at 50% of the actual value. There are a total of 8000 points,so in theory you can get the best ending but only if you get exactly 8000 points which is probably nigh on impossible, and still one ending will be locked out. Hence, unless you cheat you need to play the MP game too.

I'm so ****ed that Tali dies on me  how can I change this?

You need to side with the Geth then use the paragon/renegade option to get the Quarian's to cease fire. You then manage to end a 300 year old war between Synthetics and Organics only for the writers to **** on your achievement in the last 15min of the game.

Having read the books (except the last one) I'm really enjoying a couple of these missions.

A couple of spoilers regarding the mission at the Citadel:

Kai Leng was in the books and he was nigh on indestructible, when he appeared I thought the Salarian Councillor was toast

Also, regarding the fate of a certain character on that mission:

Thane! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. His last rites had me filling up.

Apparently, if Thane dies in ME2 it is Captain Kirrahee who saves the councilor and dies! ....don't know what happens if they are both dead

Just checked the wiki, apparently Leng at least partially succeeds in his mission and kills the Salarian Councillor.

It is actually quite brilliant imo. The choices you make thoughout the series might not have a massive effect, but they get it more right than wrong in this game imo. You can't really expect them to write 5 different games depending on your choices. They strike a decent balance imo and I was pleasantly surprised.
