edit: Why should they be cheaper than the total oh wise and all knowing easyrider?

I bet you the price of a tank of fuel that they did not say that they'll guarentee to be the cheapest of all suppliers in the area.

Don'y buy your car tyres online and save 100's of pounds

Don't complain about your dodgy pint and get the ***** the next day

Don't challange your insurance quotes just renew every year cause your to apathetic to care.

How can the two tesco's be so different in price and yet be so close?

Aylesbury, I think it's around 1.38/1.39. It's the only supermarket in the town. All the surrounding towns are cheaper but 3/4p. I fill up whenever I am visiting family or the missus in Watford/Rickmansworth due to it being cheaper.

Because there is no need? They've obviously decided that the optimum pricepoint for the filling station is at the same level as Total - the additional custom from lower prices will not make up for the loss of revenue the lower prices will result in.

Pretty simple really.
