*** Mass Effect 3 ***

Bioware has reported getting something like 52k's worth of comment and complaints on the ending. On facebook, the support base to change the end has reached 20k alone.

For me this can only mean one thing ultimately:

With so many loose ends, a game that needs playing over and over to get one (very slightly different ending) is prepping the way for ME4.

I strangely expected to be upset at the end of trilogy but the whole ending has given me hope to more ME coming along.

But in all realistically i feel
1) EA wont change the end, its a too bigger DLC and it might be more to it then we think and changing it would ruin chances. (It could be one big ploy to see if worth making another game)
2) *Spoiler* - Current endings are fake anyway and the whole 15 minutes at the end has more erm "in Shepards mind" issues. One word worth considering: indoctrination
3) Look at the hints, threads, conversations etc through out the game closely.
4) You can not effectively put a whole galactic war into a game in this shorter time so the missions selected are fueling this outcome.
5) Look at the advertising EA is getting from this ending situation, clever ploy? feelers for another game? making way for books, movies, comics etc?
6) Why when the game ends, and that message comes up (download more DLC) send you back to that specific moment?

7) or ignore the above and consider it a crappy ending!

Sorry folks, this is far from a closed trilogy!

I haven't had any of them die because I passed the loyalty missions:p(apart from the ones that have to die- Mordin, Thane and Legion so far, and I thought they were woven in to the story quite well).

I imagine if you fail Jacks loyalty mission she sacrifices saving the students? Anyone had that happen?
I might engineer that for another playthrough.(if the ending doesn't put me off like it has some)

I've not experienced it myself, but I've read that if you don't
get to Grissom Academy soon enough, you end up fighting a Cerberus Phantom that is a transformed Jack.
A shame nothing like that happens to Jacob, as I'd let him get turned and then kill and re-load, kill and re-load for many an hour; the boring sod :P

I was going to play the series again and was looking forward to another game. Based on the ending, however, it doesn't seem worth it?

the new DNA ending seemed very much like Adam/eve. I don't see the problem with the mass relays being destroyed - surely they could be rebuilt?

I am trying to avoid this thread mostly due to the number of spoilers, but I wonder how people finished this in 24hrs of play while saying they did all the side missions.
I am now 24hrs in (playing on hardcore mode) with about 20 missions still open, so I have a long way to go yet I guess. I am deliberately taking the time to talk to everyone though. Are people playing on "Casual" or am I just rubbish? :P

Not complaining though, I like to take my time and am enjoying it a lot, although I do think ME2 was better, and the only annoying bugs are quests I can not complete due to NPCs disappearing
after the assault on the Citadel

Ezah: what do you mean NPCs disappearing?

example.. the Volus NPC (Barla Von?) in the Citadel bank gives a quest which needs to be turned in before the attack on the Citadel, otherwise he has disappeared from the bank and the quest is incompleteable.

There may be others affected too, as I read on the wiki that the recommendation is to hand everything in which needs completion in the Citadel before you do the Krogan missions.

Also, on the Normandy I am asked to chat with Ashley, yet she is not at her place in the Observation Deck.. I cant find her on board anywhere

They need this ASAP.

Going to have start doing this too unfortunatley. Most of the people on here are very good with using the spolier tags but the ones who aren't are kinda ruining it.

I hear you, I guess timing is really important

Yep but only due to the bugs, and you wouldnt know unless you read the wiki first.. :(
I cant think of a Role Play reason why the Volus wouldn't be there, although there are some bullet holes behind where he was stood before :D

Apologies if this has been posted already, I don't want to read the thread through in case I see something I don't want to as I'm still on my first play through. From Bioware.

Hi everyone,

I've seen some posts where there is a bit of confusion about the ability to get the best endings by only playing single-player, because if you don't play multiplayer (or the iOS game, Infiltrator) your Galactic Readiness stays at 50%.

You do NOT have to play multiplayer to get the best single-player endings.

Here's a bit of clarification:

Your ending(s) are determined by your "Effective Military Strength" (let's call it EMS for now) bar. Focus on that bar - that is your indicator of how well you will do in the end-game.

You can maximize your EMS just by collecting War Assets in the single-player game. There is a certain threshhold of these you would need to exceed (I can't get too specific) but I can tell you there are MORE than the required amount that can be gathered in the single-player campaign.

"Galactic Readiness" is amodifier you can improve by playing multiplayer. That is to say, if you play a lot of multiplayer, you will need less War Assets from single-player to fill up your EMS bar (ie it will balance out the requirements to account for you playing in both modes). Single-player game play does not impact that bar.

EMS = success. EMS can be maximized via collecting war assets alone, even if your Galactic Readiness is 50%.

UPDATE: changing post title, "perfect" ending may create confusion. This post indicates how military strength, war assets and galactic readiness affect the endings.

Meh, it's just saving people the inevitable disappointment.

Possibly, and after all this talk about endings people probably don't have high expectations, but that's no reason to take the decision on the behalf of others to spoil it.

cheers

Where did you get that from? It is not on the wiki.
