**NVIDIA PRICE DROP - GTX 580@£299, GTX570@£239.99 & GTX560Ti(448)@£199!!**

when you think i can get a panny 50'' plasma for 450 quid, this means a GTX 580 should be about 250 quid or even less, it should be the same price as the MOBO !!!!!

these two companies need to be careful especially Nvidia, because people wont put up with high prices for much longer....

This always gets me. When you think of what goes into a 50" LCD or plasma, then what goes into a graphics card, the mind boggles.

I don't think TV tech evolves very much. Sure, there are advancements, but they don't need to re-work the fundamentals, and so R&D is likely less.

But I do think the GPU market is the most overpriced section of components. Considering you can get a pre-OCed mobo, 2500K, memory and 3rd party cooler for the price of a 7950.

example

The 560Ti 448 still needs to drop a few quid, there's a few places selling em for ~£185 now.

R&D is huge with panasonic and samsung, remember these companies are making products for millions upon millions of consumers and with such hefty critics the products have to be top notch. better black levels, louvre filters, inbuilt smart features, frame recreation, etcetc
