its all in the title really. theyre within £3 of each other so price isn't a factor.

most forums don't draw any real conclusions. I'm leaning towards the Samsung as theyre the entire OEM and don't outsource controllers or anything, potentially making it more reliable.

While I can't comment on the Samsung, I have bought and installed about 7 M4's (64gb and 128gb versions). Impressive performance, and no problems so far (touch wood).

From what I`ve read, M4's are reliable, and it seems that Crucial provide good customer support.

The Samsung package is much better with newer technologies. The M4 for a "read" drive is however quicker although much slower in writes.

As an all rounder with the software provided you could be better off with the 830. Playing it safe will see the M4 as the better buy.

thanks for that. I've installed 4 m4's and no problems so far, but that was before prices were so close. I think I'm going to go with the 830 for something new.

Sorry but where are they within £3's of each other? I can't see that
On a competitors website. well not really a competitor to OCUK, because they're german, but im in ireland and im already paying the flat rate for shipping.

they're now both €156.

if you're still interested, ill PM you?

Please get the samsung, I'm really interested to know how good they are in real world terms (currently have a force 3 in my mac and a c300 in my pc but the pc will one day get upgraded).

The different controller for the samsung seems to be the most interesting development and if it turns out to be good, id be really excited.
