Bad hotel experience - advice needed.

UPDATE!

The hotel have apologised for the treatment i was given, and have accepted that the situation was not dealt with correctly and that lessons have been learnt from this fiasco.

I have now been fully refunded for my stay, as well as the money that they took without my consent.

Sounds like an opening offer, you could get a free stay out of them I imagine. But if you're happy with that then so be it. I'm generally against most forms of compo, but when a company has caused you such aggrevation of being turfed out in the middle of the night for no reason then I feel you deserve something else.

That's a good start. What else are they offering you?

What more would you expect? He's already been refunded - in full - for his stay. He wasn't kicked out of the room, he wasn't dragged away, he wasn't assault. He was disturbed soon after entering the room so he wasn't even woken up. It's unacceptable but a full refund seems like ample compensation for what actually wasn't THAT big a deal if we get over everyones obsession with 'OMG I WAS SO OFFENDED' these days.

If he actually was made to leave the hotel then I agree more should be sought. But it seems this didn't actually happen.

They have offered me preferential rates and to 'look after me' if i chose to go back to the Liverpool branch.

I have been given the contact details of the company CEO, and will be writing a comprehensive letter to him outlining everything that occured - hopefully they can do more for me.

This is exactly what happened.

This really annoys me.

You come into a thread, the OP promises to reveal name or do something or show something soon, the next day...

Day after day after day passes and no reveal?

Why even bother saying you're going to reveal.....

I thought it may not be wise to reveal it whilst i'm still dealing with the problem incase it affected the situation somehow...

So they ejected you from the hotel and didn't let you back in!? Where did you go?

He went and slept on a friends floor, he said all this in the thread.

We tried to go to reception but wasn't allowed as the guards marched us right out of the building. I will be taking this as far as i can.

Luckily we did have a friends to stay at, but it meant sleep on a hard floor which is why we booked a hotel in the first place.

Yea, definately more than a refund then. A refund is the bare minimum!

If they barged in because they thought it was the OP and then realised they'd made a mistake and apologised/left them to it, then I'd agree with your previous post, however, the fact they were kicked out in the middle of the night, with potentially nowhere else to go, definitely deserves something as compensation.

I'm happy i've got a complete refund but feel i deserve more.

The manager of the hotel can only really offer me something in Liverpool as that is where he is based.

I'm writing to head office, and really i would like a complimentary stay in one of the branches nearer where i live.

What do you guys think?

Personally I'd look at getting vouchers/some entitlement to a free stay at one of their hotels, not just one near where you live. Presumeably it's no more/less hassle for them than doing it for a specific set of hotels, but then I don't actually know the hotel chain.

Yet.

I have read the thread (unlike others)

You should be fully refunded for all monies paid AND because you were chucked out
they should offer more eg cost of Taxi to where you did stay / cost of staying somewhere else

I'm surprised more people haven't seen security at hotels, I know almost all Premier Inn's will have them at the weekend at least due to their good night guarantee which means we're there to stop anti social behaviour as it could cost the hotel a fortune refunding people who were disturbed by it.

And what if you mistakenly believed it was completely necessary despite the lack of any evidence?

Are you being intentionally obtuse? Anything regarding 'evidence' is moot (as I've been saying all along).

A room wouldn't ever be entered unless staff and good reason to believe it was necessary. If a room was entered mistakenly then the staff would apologise, but that is all. In some cases there might be a token gift like a bottle of bubbly.

Can't believe people aren't getting this. It's really not difficult.

Did you have an SIA badge when working at the hotel?
