Well I guess they have no reason to, unless they were really hoping for Mercedes to be demoted all the way to the back. I still don't understand how they could blow the front wing? :o
 
just got back from the pub :P, cracking qualifying. Great to see a Mclaren 1,2, wonder what will happen in the first corner (should imagine there'll be "get the first couple of laps out of the way in 1 -2 then race" orders coming from the team. Fantastic 3rd for Lotus and well done Shumacher!!

Also worth noting good to see Vettel way down in sixth! (No Finger!!!!!!)

AS I was listening to them "break" the story with Whitmarsh there then ask him the question I couldn't help but think as he answered he wasn't going to protest..... ah, so Mclaren will have that working fairly soon then ;)

EDIT:- Also as they were watching the Ferrari door and saying Alonso had gone in and not come out, when the guy knocked on it I couldn't help but imagine the door opening and a glass smashing on the door and the guy running away, would have been awesome. Angry Alonso is great.
 
HRT have asked permission to participate in the race.

I'd say no. The 107% rule is there, they didn't get close to proving anything this weekend so pack up and go home.

They should be told to pack their bags and go, the car is a mobile chicane and will be lapped 50 times or it will blow and that numpty of a driver would leave a line of oil on the racing line, presuming he can find it.

Alonso must be devastated, moving to Ferrari when they are going through a period similar to the early to mid 90's.

Alonso's only chance of another title now is to move to Red Bull or back to Mclaren if Lewis moves. I just cannot see this team building a title winner for him or out thinking the others with a big rule change.

Never been a big lewis fan but this year I am after all the stupid criticism and ott stuff last year. Mclaren need to get some serious points on the board prior to europe and no doubt red bull will come back at them.
 
ferrari might be good in 2014 with the new regulations, its about all alonso can hope for if he stays with them.

i wonder if schumacher will get that contract with merc signed now :)
might be stuck with the old git for 2014!

Mr Men was adamant that Ferrari had it right and that McLaren would have to build a new chassis so they can use the stepped nose.

This thread is even funnier now. :D

He has been very quiet in the F1 threads over the last few days. ;)

All we need is a new Ferrari chassis to appear with a lower nose and he'll be spouting how innovative Ferrari are how McLaren are copying them. :D
 
Ok, watching the replay, it is definitely going to take a while to get used to the new commentating team.... Don't like them... I want the old team back... Also GO AWAY ADVERTS!
