There are only three real superhero movies to consider this year, let's forget Ghost Rider was ever made ;) So as in the thread title, which of these do you think will be the winning movie for you?

For me it's TDKR for a few simple reasons, the first two are excellent movies, it's got Nolan directing & Tom Hardy is starring as Bane...my only worry is Hathaway. I know people are saying we had the same worries about Ledger, the thing is, Ledger was already an excellent actor before he did TDK, Hathaway is nowhere near his level.

Then we have the rest of TDKR actors, you won't find many other movies, let alone superhero movies out that have acting calibre the likes of Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Aiden Gillen.

When it comes to AA, Hulk & Iron Man were fantastic movies, IM2 & Thor were entertaining but nothing special and let's not think about Captain America. I think it's way too many strong characters to try and fit into one movie. It's also directed by Whedon while great for TV, i'm not convinced he can do much for film. One big plus point for AA though, Black Widow, those lips and that hair ;)

AA's only has a few strong actors...Robert Downey JR, Samuel L Jackson, Mark Ruffalo and Stellan Skarsgard. While many of the other actors are well known, they are fairly middle of the road actors who'll take just about any role going (Evans, Johansson, Renner, Hemsworth). I personally don't rate Paltrow, she's has never engaged me in any movie i've watched.

As for TAS, I really like Garfield as an actor, much better than limp Maguire. However i'm already biased towards the reboot/remake/cash-in as I never liked the original trilogy very much, it didn't capture the essence of the comics for me. Casting wise, aside from Martin Sheen and Rhys Ifans, it's relatively new actors who i'm yet to form opinions on until they have more movies under their belt.

1. Avengers
2. Dark Knight Rises

Not bothered about the new Spiderman film.

DKR is annoying me purely because Bane doesn't grow into the massive Bane after using the Venom (unless they've kept that part secret)

Avengers is annoying me becsause, although they're minor characters, Ant Man and Wasp aren't in it.

They all have their flaws, personally, I'd rather see a Marvel Zombies film

TBH, I don't care about AA or the new spiderman film. TDKR excites me mainly because Nolan is directing it/the whole Imax feel about it/ the other films were brilliant.

I'm looking forward to the Avengers more than The Dark Knight Rises, I can't wait to see what Whedon has done with it, and I love the ensemble cast.

TDKR will no doubt be excellent too, but I'm wary about Bane (I saw the preview at the IMAX and didn't understand a word he said). He could ruin the movie for me. Obviously this depends on whether you could understand him or not.

Not really fussed about The Amazing Spider-Man. None of the previous films clicked with me, and even as a reboot this has failed to get me excited. The original teaser featured some shocking CGI.

Edit: I disagree with your assessment of the Marvel films. :p IM1 - Excellent. Hulk - Atrocious. IM2 - Excellent. Thor - Great. Captain America - Good.

It'll be between TDKR or AA for me, not interested in Spider Man since I found Toby to be pretty good at the role, plus its a cash-in in my eyes

Also I don't even like Captain America but I thought the film was pretty good overall

I honestly don't believe you'll see this due to Nolan keeping the trilogy in the realms of reality, it really would be a push to portray Bane as he is in the comics.

...Hulk - Atrocious

Ah, you're thinking of the Ang Lee Hulk aren't you ;)

DKR will probably be the best movie of our generation. I honestly believe that

Does anyone really think Nolan can top The Dark Knight?

As much as I want the third to be better, hang on, let me put it in perspective, as much as every fibre of my being hopes that TDKR will be the best of the trilogy, I truly don't believe he can better TDK.

The dark knight was what is was because of the joker/Heath Ledger, the charisma he bought to the roll made the film go from great to something special, can any other character do what he did for the movie?

I doubt it, its some of the best acting to ever come out of Hollywood. It won't be as good, but its still going to be AMAZING.

So excited for this film, its insane.

A guy who wears a bat-suit, drives a tank, has millions of dollars and access to unlimited technology, how can they not make Bane mutate?

See, I really liked Batman Begins, but DKR just didn't seem that good to me - maybe I need to watch it again...

The Avengers I think has great potential.. but it might be the case of too many heroes in one film... I mean each of them are big enough to have and have had successful films in their own right, so I'm not sure how well the presence of all of them will work.

I was waiting for this reply and however unlikely, it's plausible...plus it's billions :D

how can they not make Bane mutate?

However the level to which Bane mutates then goes back to normal, sometimes in the space of minutes is just pushing it a little too far ;)

Avengers looks potentially one of the best comic book movies ever made - it brings so much to the table and really pushes the boundry of comic books adapted to the big screen. I think we are now at the right point in time with visual effects where such a movie can work so well. If this was made 5-10 years ago it wouldn't have worked - visual effects really have came along way in the last few years, and for once I'm not sick of seeing cgi.

The dark knight rises will no doubt deliver but it has got big shoes to fill from the standard now set from the first two. I think it will be good, but just more of the same as the dark knight. The dark knight was good but this one will need something a little bit extra if it wants to stand apart as well. I am personally a bit on the fence about this, as I wasn't that impressed with Nolan's latest film Inception (but love all his other work).

For me its Avengers. The new spider-man looks interesting especially the take on peter parker and the first person spidey swinging as seen in the trailer but it feels too close from the previous for me to care much.

The dark knight will probably make the mist dosh though.

I'm not a fan of Spider Man. That's all I can say, I've only watched one or two movies from the series and didn't really dig them.

The Avengers has a great cast and is really hyped up but IMO it's bound to not live up to the expectations. It will be a good show but nothing more than it, after all it's just an action flick. That's not to say it won't be entertaining.
It may be a surprise too since Joss Whedon is on it and I have massive respect to that guy since Firefly.

I have very high hopes for the Dark Knight Rises, Tom Hardy has been in some excellent movies and Heath Ledger wasn't really considered such a good actor before the Dark Knight so here's hoping that Nolan is able to make the best out of his crew again.

Batman no question about it. From the looks of the trailer the new spiderman is basically a copy of the original spiderman film but with some new special effects and a different cast :p
