Australian Grand Prix 2012, Albert Park Circuit - Race 1/20

Miserable ****** should have driven faster then, shouldn't he? :D

All joking, banter, likes or dislikes aside, thats pretty much it.

He had the chance to attack Vettel after the SC, and just didn't. And meanwhile JB pulled out 0.5 seconds a lap on them. Someone needs to kick him up the arse.

Indeed. And I should probably point out to the OcUK Messiah™ League Of Fanboys that yes - I was joking when I called him a miserable ******. I shouldn't really have to say that, but I know how some of you are :p

Perhaps now Sunama will see that Vettel is a good driver but his ability to go faster than anyone else during qualifying was because of the car, his ability to stick in 3-5 laps at the start to get clear of drs was because of the car, his ability to pull away after a safety car and respond when it looks like a driver is coming back at him, was because of the car.

JB did exactly those things today, because he's comfortable with the car. While Vettel drove a race similar to a Mclaren would have last year.

The gaps between this lot are much smaller than anyone wants to believe.

He was schooled tbh, but there will be many times this year where Jenson Balance returns and Hamilton will get more out of the car.

Vettel will laugh while those two take points out of each other.

I had hoped that with the bbc not showing the race until this afternoon they would at least avoid plastering the winner on the front page of the bbc news site.

No such luck.

Auto is better than high!? ? Arggghh! Didn't know that. I was missing out on extra pixels! :) Cheers will try that. Even at 2.9mbps though, it shows it's not a line capacity thing, it's wireless that mucks it up for me. I have to do hardwired.
ta

I know it's counterintuitive isn't it!

I only worked it out last weekend watching the football. :/

It'll be broadcast all over the news as well. They don't dare do that with football.

Now they are not covering it, their website updates seem to be much faster :D

Maybe. But maybe McLaren have somehow built a car that works well almost everywhere, and plays to JB's strengths. Guess we'll know in a few races exactly where the McLaren internal pecking order is settling out.

*sigh*

Prats

Yea wasn't great for Mercedes, It was looking like they could have gotten a really decent result.

Shame for Williams too, wasn't expecting much but Maldonardo looked real good... Except for that last lap.

Kimi ended up 7th, not too bad in the end for him.

Maybe, I think if JB won a title at Mclaren ahead of Hamilton it would be the end of Hamilton. He seems too fragile these days for the mind **** that the F1 paddock is.

Those endless tyres seemed to suit him far better.

Race trim the Red Bulls are certainly not as far away as they looked in qfy. I imagine the next race will be far closer on saturday.

If JB wins the WDC (or looks like hes heading that way throughout the season) then Hamilton will leave McLaren (IMO).

And I don't know what it is about Adam Parr, but he creeps me out.

Good race from Button but with the state of the Pirelli tyres the race was always going to favour whoever was in first coming out of the first corner, so that little bit of wheelspin cost Hamilton really.

I'd like to see pitting under the safety car banned, Vettel getting the jump on Hamilton like that was a racing travesty. Racing shouldn't be about whoever gets luckiest when the FIA decide to exploit an incident as an excuse to bunch the pack up.

He looks and sounds like he should be a Tory mp or banker.

Even in clear air Hamilton only touched buttons pace for a few laps. Even if Hamilton had been first into turn one buttons pace would have won it, I think. He easily responded to vettel while Hamilton clung on.
