Gigabyte GTX 680 2GB said to be at same price as point of 7970 3GB

I was expecting it to actually be cheaper than 7970 as I feel they are way overpriced all ready, also only 2gb of ram compared to 3gb on the 7970

I just gave in and went 7970 after waiting to see what the green team would do . I made the desision that prices would not change much ,and found a card with 32% off retail ,just got my tracking number and confirmed pickup .
I have spent thousands at overclockers over the years but this time it was just such a good deal to go elswere. It was actually my father that found it at a place he gets his printer paper from . Proves parents are usefull sometimes :D

OCUK are pretty expensive IMO. Good service, I often shop here, but expensive.

The reason i normally shop at overclockers is prices are normally competative and the aftersales is second to none, but 7970 prices seem to be all over the place and to be fair overclockers are simular prices to there competition, but the problem has been created by amd . They priced there new cards to high which means stock levels are high so deals are there to be had at places that normally would not have new cards

Good for you! I did the same thing last week when I ordered 2 x MSI 7970's. Still underwhelmed by the lack of competition in the market!

I usually find I could buy cheaper elsewhere, but I like the service so sometimes pay the extra, I could have bought the new 24" Benq gaming monitor (the recent release model) cheaper elsewhere, but bought it here.

I cant say lots about much obviously, but after coming in from the pub, and boring quize night .. My tracker is saying "at hub awaiting delivery" So hopfully i shall have a 7970 at 7950 prices tomorrow

And the fact that the thread has gone off on a tangent.... as most long threads do.

I think they're talking about ipods now....zzzzzzz

So what's the chance's around oct/november, I'll be able to pick up something that will play everything @ 1920x1200 run at 65c 150watts for under £300 ?

To be fair, it is so bloody fast that good info gets lost easily.

I've noticed that he likes to stamp his authoritah on random forum posts. Perhaps an insecurity complex at being underboss? Or maybe just forum-mod megalomania. :p

Anyway, I agree. There's some good info in that other thread, and its probably the better place for this, but its become so bloated with speculation and flaming that you need a day just to sift through it.
