Hey,
im thinking about getting a OCZ Agility 3 60GB. The only thing is i have a old motherboard and i assume it uses sata II not sata III

Basicly im just wondering if it would be worth be even considering a SSD even though i would love one ;p

My specs are:
Q6600
Geforce 250 GTS
Foxconn motherboard from a Packard Bell Ixtreme
3GB Ram
OCZ 700W PSU

It will still be faster than a mechanical drive on sata 2 so definately still worth your while.

Not sure I would go for an Agility 3 tho. This drive is on offer this week and imo is a better choice for the money :D

Only reason i said a OCZ agility 3 is because i could get hold of one for £55, may i ask why you choose a crucial M4 instead?

There were a lot of blue-screen issues with Agility 3's when they came out to do with power-cycling. There have been a bunch of firmware updates since, and I've not had a problem since I last flashed; some people are still having problems though.

The Crucial hasn't had these issues although you will want to make sure it's on the latest firmware as well so that it doesn't bomb after 5200 hours.

Personally I have had 2 Agility 3s pack in on me and not had good experiences with OCZ's customer services. After my last OCZ drive gave up I got an M4 and I have to say I am very happy with it so far :D

Also the M4 uses Synchronous NAND memory wheras the Agility 3 uses asynchronous. This is explained here

Hope this helps you decide :)
