Haven't seen this mentioned except for a thread of the same title in PC Section so who's getting it for the PS3 or 360? Shame about some of the reviews as it's been judged on the single player instead of the multiplayer in a lot of them, but I will be getting it for the 360 as I'm too impatient to wait for the pc release ;)
 
Got it today. Its completely different from the previous RE games as its a 4 player coop. Playing single player campaign is like playing left4dead with the computer. Highly recommend to play it online. No split screen but players can drop in and out during the game. However, i think there's a bug as when a player drops out, that character becomes idle and will just stand throughout the game. There are 6 characters to choose from, and each character has his/her own unique abilities. As you level up, you spend the exp to purchase for the abilities and weapons.

Havent tried pvp yet.. awesome game and will not disappoint especially for RE fans
 
I never had much hope for this and reviews are pointing out what i thought it would be, I still want to give it ago but i may wait till its in the bargin bin as i see it dropping in price very quickly

Destined to fail from when they announced it tbh, RE5 was NOT a RE game IMHO.
Was just some generic shooter with the RE franchise slapped on top tbh
I still enjoyed playing thru it and the merc mode but pretty let down that it was meant to be a RE game :(

i also felt the same about RE5. really disapointed they dropped the survival horror aspect of the game and made it a generic shooter. :/

i want RE back to its roots like RE 1, 2 and 3. and CV. one can only hope

just played through 3 in the past few days and really enjoyed it despite the slightly out dated graphics. walking through a door to find nemesis the other side while my health is on caution = panic time :p

Yup, he is terrifying!
 
Just read the IGN review: "An actual zombie outbreak would have been less tragic". :p

People will rush to defend this game, but I don't see how it can really be defended when the reviews thus far seem to be unanimously crap. Okay, it's not as if reviewers have never gotten anything wrong and I would say that much of the time a good game is totally subjective, but from what I've read there are many things that are broken with this game, not just team mate AI.

Perhaps - if the L4D comparisons are true - it won't be so tragic, as L4D 1 and 2 were hugely enjoyable co-op games. But if it is broken then I'll leave it alone.
 
I had mine back today, It's ok so far (going through on single player)

Came across a bug on the first part, couldn't go any further because one of the A.I team mates was stuck so had to restart the game, all ok the second time.

It is built for co-op, also has a versus mode to so might give that a go later.

Over all its a good twist on the Resident Evil story where you're the bad guys but the game is not brilliant, just ok I find.
