The *Official* Eve Online Thread

I've not renewed my sub now, I just couldn't find stuff to do that kept me excited. Everything felt like a grind, ironically there weren't even good rewards. Money is so easy to get from missions that it didn't feel like I was getting rewarded and I don't wanna pay to wait for my skills to train.

Eve is about PvP, and you can get into that with minimal SP. I hear there's a minigame in eve to do with clicking on red + signs that you can play solo but that's pretty crap.

Had some fun last night, me and my CEO went after an Enyo who he can flipped, the Enyo beat down 2 Daredevils (mine and CEO's) and then the CEO went back in with his Ishtar, lost it and raged. I just shrugged and carried on with life.

To be honest, I'm looking for a corp that actually does stuff, not just can flipping and 1 day of incursions a fortnight...
 
It's a shame EVE's interface and learning curve are so unfriendly.

When you get into it, it's one of the best PVP games in existence.

There's nothing else that has twitch, tactical play, strategic play, deep and wide gameplay and such a persistent world. Very rewarding and keeps you coming back. Alas, it's a bit like marmite and they seem determined to discourage people from getting into it.

The only thing I can think of that came even close was Planetside back in the day when people were still trying to play on the big map.
 
I'm actually here at Fanfest with Eve Uni.

The alliance panel was....entertaining if nothing else, basically going from left to right up the hill of insanity and drunkenness.

Fanfest so far = awesome.

Oh and Dust sucks.

Yeah I regret the timing of my post, the last two speakers were terrible. I saw the really long Eve Uni interview though that was really interesting to hear how much work and organisation goes into it, not surprising of course but it's impressive.

Enyo killing an Ishtar? Much respect to the Enyo pilot, unless he had neutral RR ofc :)
 
Guardian wouldn't show on KM as repping somebody doesn't produce aggression.

That system (it's the one with the plex in, yeah?) is full of people who do this stuff for giggles in the plex.

We used to ask hostages "What is welsh for Taxi?" - the correct answer is tacsi but a repeat of taxi would do. However, 98% of people would hurl insults and thus lose their ship as a consequence.

But like everyone else, I have had to give up Eve due to wife and baby commitments. Not a game wher you can quickly dip in/out for half an hour.
