Dog attacks police officers

at end of day a trained dangerous dog like a rotty or pitbull or similar you arnt stopping until its dead.

doesnt matter if you twenty stone a rotty would take you straight down.

if the coppers were injured or even take the coppers out of it you would kill the dog to save lives or injuries. simples.

Rottweilers _can_ be intimidated into backing down most pitbull breeds don't know the meaning of being intimidated.

If the owner was responsible the chances are the dog would not have attacked anyone.
It all depends how the owner treated and trained the dog.

All butch terrier type dogs and large stereotypical german dogs ought to be made very expensive to own. The owner pays a yearly license fee of £650 and it must attend abidance classes once a year to get a license renewal. Anyone caught owning such a dog without a license will get a £2500 fine or 6months in prison.

Ordinary civilians will be encouraged to grass the chavs up and receive a £25 bonus if said chav gets convicted.

Stupid comments like this make me so mad
Its the owners not the dogs.
Vet the owners, ie should they be allowed to have such a dog.
No need to charge the responsible owners.

I totally agree with this. They should be made expensive enough that those typical no-life council estate thug/chav/garbage/subhumans simply can't afford one. There's a reason these morons go for pitbulls and that's because those dogs are known for natural aggression. Regardless of the fact that there are of course responsible owners, there's unfortunately just too many idiots that train them to be dangerous. There's been too many incidents in the news of violence from variants of these terriers. Or just outright ban them from the country. Some animals are just too dangerous or potentially dangerous to be pets.

Stupid, pitbulls are banned so they shouldnt have one anyway. Staffs and english bulls arent know for natural agression, they only get that way if they are mistreated. A woman was killed by her 5 cats. Should they ban cats? make them really expensive? get a grip.

i will be getting another english bull at some point as the one i had before was the best dog i ever had and dont want to have to pay premiums because of some chavs anti-social behaviour and mistreatment of animals.

I dunno.

I mean with a mutt weighing maybe 25kg hanging off your arm by means of its teeth in contact with the bones of your arm...

If you were clubbing its head with your baton, you're going to get more hurt than the bloody dog.

The choice sucks but I can't see what else they could have done aside from bundling onto the dog til someone could kill it properly then break the jaws open to get it off.

Seriously doubt they would have known that bumming the dog would encourage it to let go.

I guess they could have smashed the rest of the dog to a pulp with batons til it died of massive internal injuries and that would have looked real good with all the phone cameras on them in this age of selectively edited police brutality uploaded to youtube in 5 mins flat.

What is the appeal in owning them? When I see people walking around with these dogs, I assume they are trying to intimidate other people. I also assume they don't pick up the dog p**!

Staffies are beautiful dogs: very humble and very loving when treated the correct way.

The common type you see is a problem and most frown upon it and I personally don't think all staffies should be judged by certain bad owners.

Also, I love staffies. :D

Thats a lot of assumptions there eh. im just going to assume your an ****hole for all the assumptions you make about people you dont know.(Im not really, just trying to prove a point.;))

after seeing the vid, i think all officers need more training on how to deal quickly with attacking dogs.

Yes, lock themselves away from them....
Carry those fancy poles with hoops on the end...
Be prepared to hit the dog on the head with something a little harder than an extending tent pole? (and know that they aren't going to get crucified by the press, and dumped on by their own seniors if they are caught on camera being 'cruel' to a dog that's trying to chew their arms off).

Seriously I suspect there isn't much an officer (or group of officers) could do to stop a large/heavily built dog when they don't have the gear on them.

And personally I'd prefer the money to be spent on training them better for situations they encounter more often, or possibly more dog handlers who would be trained properly, and equipped as such, rather than a half day course once every couple of years for all officers, assuming the budget for the training hasn't been cut (IIRC several forces are quite far behind on their training for various things due to budget restrictions)

We see hundreds of vid of police beating the crap out of people, then this pops up where they run like cowards from a dog. Its very strange, im hoping i wouldnt react like that if i was ever put in the same situation. It shows me that those police were not a very good team and had not been trained form this situation.

They run like cowards from a dog? You then go onto state that you hope you would react different. So on one hand you judge the cops as being cowards yet, on the other, you admit you don't know how you would react.... Seriously?!? Fool.

And why is that? because as humans we own everything?

Oh give me peace. You have done nothing but strut about this thread with a sanctimonious attitude as if you are the only person that "knows how to handle dogs" and everyone else's opinions don't count as they can't possibly be as experienced as you when it comes to dogs. Again, fool!
