In some cases yes, I have to deal with customers who can't or won't speak English.
It would be a bit brave to try and speak to someone in another language who probably only knows English! I don't get annoyed at people trying to speak English, but I do get annoyed when people are acting frustrated that I can't understand them when what they are saying barely resembles words - this is what I find the most annoying about the Scottish.
I don't get annoyed when people use a different language between themselves, but it does hold back children at English schools if they aren't speaking English at home.

I've a fair bit of that, but for the most part the taxes paid by people pay for interpretors for a whole host of various languages.
Regularly encounter chinese of several types, polish, lithuanian, portugese and the occasional russian. Must say I've never encountered a paid translator for typical muslim origin folks, but then we don't have a large arabic or pakistani community. There are several family groups of course but for the most part they are well established and have been here for more than a generation, and mostly speak English just as badly as the locals.

I think that's the case now, but religious slaughter as it was still exists and imo any meat produced by any method should be labelled correctly.
So halal slaughter is now more or less stunning BUT the animal is not dead at the point of stunning and could recover if it wasn't killed, whereas 'normal' stunning kills. What universe creating god would/should care about that?
Reminds me of..I think it was Bill Mayer's film where he talked to some Jewish engineers/techs who were trying to get around the 'no working on the sabbath'.

i was living as a student in Newcstle for 4 years, life in britain seemed "sterile" to me. I cant really explain it but there was nothing exciting going on, the only influence life there had on me was towards organizing and managing my work and time....it felt like the society was "cultureless". i hope i get my point across
No it doesn't. Stunning means the animal is knocked senseless and in conventional slaughter then gets a bolt to the head (depending on the animal).

You may want to try living near one of the Pakistani/Bangladeshi self enforced ghettos near where I live!
Certainly no go areas after sundown, my Pakistani mate wont let me walk to town from his house on my own. Most times we've walked through this area he's had to tell groups of Pakistani lads to back off 'cos I'm his mate.
We're talking an area that's almost exclusively Pakistani. Maybe 4% nationally but before you scoff at "Islamic zones" you might want to try living in the real world!
And there are white areas where you would get treated the same and it would be dangerous to walk through without being accompanied by someone to hold your hand and look after you, what has the race or religion of the people got to do with it?

Yeah, that's true, but the vast majority live together in certain areas.
You try walking through some of the Welsh council estates at night and see what race and religion it is that mugs you, or knowl west or Southmead council estate in Bristol or Horfield council estate.
See how far you being white gets you then with other whites as you decree "but lads, your white and English like me, we are supposed to get along!"
