Hey guys,

Well basically Im on holiday to HK to visit my family, shopping lol etc for 3-4 weeks.
Over the past few years I usually go to Heathrow. But Im trying to find cheaper alternatives. and found that travelling to birmingham airport is much cheaper compared to heathrow( using coach that goes directly there). as that will save me much money on travels. about £70/£80.

At the moment I am thinking about using Emirates Airline that makes 1 stops(which Im fine with but would not like 2 stops) to Dubai at £720 per adult.are they any good?
Can anyone find any cheaper prices than that??
need to think about booking soon before they go any higher

many thanks

£750 seems like a hell of a lot of money just to Hong Kong, Emirites were offernig all the way to Australia for that the other week.

You are putting yourself at a huge disadvantage insisting on Birmingham as all the direct flights to Hong Kong go from Heathrow. If you are going to spend £750 you might as well go direct!

Maybe have a look at Cathay Pacific I have used them before great airline, if you don't mind going cheap and cheerful try Air China

I do use this flight route quite a bit and can recommend it but you can get cheaper flights from Heathrow. I go from Birmingham as I don't pay for it and it is convenient (10km from me) and (importantly for you) because Emirates are a really good airline to fly with when you are going this kind of distance. I also hate Heathrow but not as much as Gatwick mind.

Way expensive. I have a flight booked to Kota Kinabalu in Borneo which goes via HK and its only costing me £540. I am flying Cathay Pacific, I flew with them last year to KL via Hong Kong but that cost me £590.

I'm sure you'll get it sub £600 though it does depend on what days you can fly and return on.

£750 return to hong kong is rather expensive. I've been there quite a few times and have never had to pay more than £500 for a return. Emirates are a good airline though, Etihad are also decent if you're willing to stop off in the emirates.

Thx guyswell its actually £720 at the moment, Raymond is that in the summer £580??
thats a very cheap price. Im from dates 09/07/12 to about 04-15/08/12

cheers

Yeh Well last time I went I did use Cathay Pacific which was a few years back, it was great. just checked it about £750-£800 mite consider tht. but if I travel to heathrow and when i come back its gna cost like about £150 in terms of transport money.
going to birmingham and back is gna cost like £20 thru coach.
Thx Fox, £450 definately is a bargain but any1 used Air China?? just tried it £473 sounds good to me.

Why would it cost £150 to get to Heathrow and back from Leicester?

A standard offpeak return to London from Leicester by train is £53 - from there it's not expensive to get to Heathrow, £16 return from Paddington on Heathrow Connect. No ticket allocations for your month yet for advance purchase but picking May for example and it can be had for as little as £34 return in advance?

Lol if we're coming back we are most likely gonna be coming back by taxi from heathrow since there would be too much stuff to carry ie-luggages etc.
its gna be around tht price.

If any of you guys can find any cheaper like £600 from birmingham to hk tht would be great. Otherwise im mite go with Air China.

And if you really want cheap you can always go by tube to heathrow which is around £4 each way (but 45 minutes depending on station).

You said you were getting a coach a minute ago, now there is too much stuff to carry on a train? If you cant get it on a train good luck fitting it on a plane - the baggage allowances are far less generous than that you can fit on a train!

Exactly. People take skis and two big bags with them on trains at some times, once you've dumped them in the luggage area you just sit there like a taxi until you get to the other end.

thats if it was to birningham by coach, if it was heathrow it would be taxi.
basically im trying to look for cheaper options whether to go fromm birmingham or london. sorry for muddling it all up.
