AMD 12.4 beta drivers

Gave me better fps in BF3, and a slightly better fps in heaven, try them yourself

Win7/Vista 64

Any release notes to go with these? I installed 12.2 official drivers on a new install the other day, they are supposed to be carp for BF3, but seem fine to me. A little more FPS on Karkand wouldn't go a miss though

Don't think so because they're beta, but are 8.96 drivers, and Cat 12.4 and have the newest Open CL.

At a guess, in the games I play, a 2-3% improvement over 8.95/Cat 12.3 and 5% over 12.2

how good have they been in BF3 overall

i'm still using 12.1

Using them graphics are smooth and the game doesn't crash, all you can want from BF3 tbh

mihgt give them a ry see if it solves my slowdown problem on player animations.

basically if i knife someone from behind my fps drops to single digits if i look at an enemy climbing a ladder the same thing happens. i can be at 50-60 fps at all other times so it's pretty frustrating.

Yeah that's not a driver issue but a BF3 netcode issue, pushing the network slider all the way to the right resolves stuttering knife animations

my experiences with 12.2/3 WHQL have been good but all the hardcore tweaking has been disabled

i am finding bf3 runs a lot smoother now than the newest official drivers i updated to last week, i had random crashes and long black outs with them

Opposite for me sadly :/ Went down to 12.1 and still I have crashed with ATI drivers and BF3 >.< Still trying to hunt down the cause of it

Thanks for that! Did you install them fresh after an ATIman uninstall or did you install them over other ones?

Anyone any idea on what cap(s) to use?

I just installed them over the last ones. I only fresh install new official ones tbh, and I never have any problems.

These do feel a little smoother for BF3 with a 6950 for me, although I couldn't get a decent game in over the weekend, bloody BT trolling my Infinity

What goes wrong for you exactly when playing? Do you get periods of a minute or two where you pretty much can't move?

First time this weekend spent some time on BF3, and was getting terrible rubber banding for couple minutes at a time.

This is normal DSL though, but just wondering if BT having issues.
