Do you like living in Britain?

Can't really beat the UK..

Free healthcare
Free dentist
Free eyecare
Trustworthy police
Free legal
Free schooling
No civil wars etc
Good road network

Can't think of another country where you have it so easy..

It very much depends what you ae lookin for in life, what's the point of all that if your unhappy. It's not as if most of Europe doesn't have most of that.

Yeah it is relative to other countries and private dentists

Tooth out via NHS 30 to 45 quid all in
My private dentist 80 to 100 then add cost of injection/xray on top...looking at 150.

Most of our healthcare is quite poor, long waiting lists, rushed operations etc etc.

Dentist isn't free over 18 unless your employer are willing to pay for you.

Again eyecare isn't free unless you employer will pay it.

Police and trustworthy in the same sentence. You mean the ones who hide drug dealers to take a cut of their profits, beat up people whilst in custody and take advantage of their power?

Free legal, don't quite get what you meant here as a solicitor/lawyer will cost you.

Free schooling, yes, but the majority of free schools are very poor. Mine was anyway.

No civil wars, again yes, but there are many countries not in civil war atm.

Good roadwork, not really, when the snow hits the country grinds to a halt. Look at somewhere like Germany for a good road network.

Some more perspective.

I was lucky enough to have my appendix decide it had had enough whilst on holiday visiting my family in Cape Town. Cue vomiting, pain and general unwellness.

I was rushed to the nearest hospital which was a private one. Before they would even look at me, they needed a £2000 deposit. I didn't have that much cash readily available, so it my dad hadn't been able to front it with his credit card, I would have had to be taken to a free clinic. If that had happened, the chances are VERY likely that I would have died, as I would have been caught in a back-log of other patients and wouldn't have had access to a proper operating theatre, given it wasn't obvious what the issue was (it took a blood test and x-ray to find the source of the issue.).

The final bill for my appendectomy? £6000, all lovingly (lol) covered by my travel insurance.

Had that happened in this country, I would have been seen to for free, and at standard infinitely higher than that of an SA free clinic.

I can put up with some grey weather for stuff like that.

Try going to a country where you have to pay police to stop hassling you after they pull you over on the side of the road. Or one where people get killed in custody. Also, where does this perfect police force exist? Nowhere.

We hardly ever have snow so it's pointless spending a lot of money preparing for it. How much snow did we have over the last few months?

but like many other people, your talking about one country out of hundreads. Also a lot is overcome with adequate insurance. So it very much depends what your disposable income after such things as to how much it actually costs.

We certainly aren't the best country for everything. In fact NHS is quite low down the ranking tables.

Lol Britian.

I like Britain, but i haven't lived anywhere else so i can't really compare very well, only from what i can read about and ask about from others.
The main 2 things i dislike about Britain is broadband connection speeds and the weather.

No hense why i live in Asia.

England is too expensive and boring, if you can get a job around $700 - $1000 a month and currently have no kids id get yourself off to one of Asia's developing country's like Laos or Cambodia.

Health insurance is cheap and the only thing you actually need.

No motorbike or car insurance ? No problem, can be sorted out with $10 or a phone call to someone who you know who's respected enough for the police not to bother. Crash ? You're a noob for one but also if you crash into a very expensive car on your bike the car owner will be expected to pay as they clearly have a lot of money.

On top of what you've said there are many of us who go through life without using the NHS.

If this post is serious I feel sorry for you son. Your main dislikes are broadband speed and the weather. LMFAO. For a start the broadband speeds are perfectly fine for most stuff and the weather unfortunately isn't controllable but at least we avoid tsunamis, tornadoes, hurricanes, monsoons etc etc.

Broadband speeds perfectly fine? That depends where you live.

I think perceptions don't marry up with reality nor people's expectations (which often are unrealistic too). Your posts prove that.
