Robert Bowling has resigned from Infinity Ward

Perhaps he got bored of working on the same game over and over again and got a better offer elsewhere.
 
If quickscoping dies, we know whose fault it was
Maybe finally a reduction in the number of camper tools too.
 
He has no control over the game, if you want to be annoyed at somebody it's the developers you need to be looking at.

I would guess that part of the reason he's leaving would be the constant abuse he gets, since it seems to be the only way to get the developers to listen, it's a thankless job and I feel sorry for anyone who has to take over from him. Yes it doesn't help when he says stuff like "**** You last stand!" and then Final stand is in the game, but part of his job is to promote the game and make it appeal to fans, even if he does disagree with things in it he can't exactly speak openly about it.

He was "creative strategist and a lead of Infinity Ward" and doesn't get a say in how the game is made?

It's just a job title, I'd be very surprised if he had any input above passing on fan feedback and making suggestions, the developers have the final say of what's included in the game.

If you read his twitter when people are raging about the next thing to be wrong with the game he posts replies along the lines of "I've passed on fan feedback about Deadmans hand, but the development team feels that it's balanced since it takes 6 deaths in a row to get, so no changes will be made".

If he really had any say do you think he would be making suggestions instead of just telling them to remove/fix it?
 
And nothing of value was lost. What has he been doing for the past 3 years apart from saying "Uhm how about we make it the same as the last one?"

has it not occured to you that maybe the reason he left was because he was tired of being told to lie to customers ?

He did it repeatedly, but at the end of the day he did a job. And when you do your job you do as your told.

I think it was obvious he was fighting a losing battle, promising stuff Infinity Ward couldn't deliver.

You really think the whole strategy behind the entire COD franchise lies with him ?

What about the Treyarch games in the franchise that just churn out the same stuff ? he's nothing to do with Treyarch. The decision to churn out the same crap in COD every year goes higher than him.

No.

You know EA call the shots. Thats the reason that COD is the same year in year out, even when its made by Treyarch, as opposed to Infinity Ward that he worked for.

I heard he's going to Halo 4 to help them sort out the Halo franchise, now everytime your little buzz lightyear get's downed you get a last stand and martydom at the same time! :p

Can't see this will make a difference, they probably just need a different front man to take the abuse for a while!

definitely. The whole robert trolling thing came about because for every statement he no doubt issued saying the game would have x , y , z somebody else took the decision that they wouldn't have x, y, z and would instead have a, b and c.

As a result the community just went through old press conferences where he'd promised stuff (like no nukes, no last stand etc..) and sent him hate mail for going back on "his" promises.
