Shocking that we need this in Great Britain, another death knell into multicultural Britain it might be fine in the middle east and India but not here. What a backwards and dark age way to live.

A girl aged five is thought to have become Britain's youngest victim of forced marriage.

She was one of an astonishing 400 children helped by the Government's Forced Marriage Unit during the last year, it has emerged.

Vile

Isn't your statement that it might be fine in the middle east and India but not here made kind of bloody obvious by the fact that we have a unit preventing it from happening and have banned it?

What next, you post a link to the Daily Mail of a woman getting raped and then claiming that its multicultural Britain's fault for allowing rape?!

I dunno cheets, if forced marriage becomes more popular you might even get married one day.

Just to point out that Forced Marriage is not the same as Arranged Marriage........although I am sure some might not accept the difference.

I know a few that had an arranged marriage and were perfectly happy with it. Its not like they marry someone they never met.

But can they say no,? I mean don't the family take it to heart, next minute you have an "honour killing" on your hands.

Which is exactly what I'd prefer to do than find someone over here. Rich wins, by far.

Grass is not always greener.

lol says the guy that had to move to another country to find love
I dunno cheets, if you venture out of the confines of Wigan (don't forget to pack the survival kit!) you might find some luck yourself, I can give you some tips on dealing with such a huge change if you like?

But same thing really, how many people actually want an Arranged Marriage?

That you think it is the same thing illustrates you do not really understand what you are opposed to.

As for those who want or accept arranged marriages, A significant number would not see it as any different to Western Tradition, or at least the modern lack of tradition.. Just because it is not part of your culture doesn't mean that it is automatically evil.

In fact arranged marriages and betrothals have been integral to British Culture for centuries.....it has only fallen put of practice relatively recently.

It seems to me that the problem isn't so much a British one, it's certainly not a religious one, it's a cultural problem where third world people are transplanted to the UK but don't come up to our cultural standards of behaviour. Witchcraft murders, forced marriage, forced exclusion from society etc.

As to how to solve it.. I don't know. Multiculturalism is the problem though.... we've made the mistake of allowing people to exist within our country, but without integrating into society. From that it would suggest that a forced marriage unit will cause conflict because it will be opposed to communities and working against them.

The solution would be to do what we can to avoid further expansion of multiculturalism - without going for extreme policies or anything silly. And also work out how we involve and include people who are excluded from society. Very very difficult things to solve.

Exactly why would forced marrige for a 5 year old girl be okay in one country and not another.

lolcheets, you're pretty vile yourself using extreamly rare sensational media stories to push a racist adgenda.

British people do vile things too, where do we send them?
