Week out, but anyone just watch the one that was just on?

The last guy, Jaz, was absolutely mindblowingly good... for those who didn't watch, Jessie J and Will.I.Am were in tears...

Yep, I just said to my missus "I think we're watching the winner ..." - there are a lot of good singers on this show, but I think this bloke will go all the way.
 
I've really enjoyed this series so far although I can see it getting fairly similar to x-factor etc now. I feel a bit bad for the second to last guy, he was really good.

This show is very high in talent but that guy at the end blew everyone out of the water. Next week is going to be tough..... For singing talent this show is the best i have seen.
 
Indeed, next weekend, two shows, each judges will go from ten guys down to five. Quite a cull.

The talent base for this show is high, all were invited to perform, I think this much more that watching some poor demented creature who can't sing being laughed at.

OT: i think it's ok i wouldn't watch it every week/episode? but what i have seen seems to be alright, but as with all shows like this it gets less interesting the longer it's on.
 
So basically, The Voice is people who have failed previously and re trying, I thought this was about talent? New talent? Disappointed, to find most of them already have tracks out etc.

I saw the episode where he sang Like a virgin, and wasn't overly impressed - when compared to some of the vocalists they'd had on the show.

I've not seen the latest installment, but will probably do so some point this week on iplayer.

Thanks for the links you've posted - amazing the difference it makes when they sing as opposed to try to showpiece their vocals - very well produced, but I can't but help think that he sounds a bit like Will Young... but more interesting!

That's not necessarily a bad thing by the way...

It got harder and harder for the contestants as each one sung, because the judges could only have 10 people in their team. The judges are also looking for variety in their teams (they don't want 4 young girls all with the same whispy voice). This means that in the first couple of episodes you got them turning round a lot, in this last episode they hardly turned round, even for people that they liked, because they might have had 8 or 9 people in their team and were running the risk of filling their team and then hearing someone amazing but not being able to turn round.

The judges were also thinking of the people they already had in their team - there might be a guy that sounded great but if they already had say, 6 guys, then they would be trying to get girls.

This is the only thing I thought was unfair about it - if you came to the stage in last night's ep you were at a major disadvantage compared to the people in the first ep, the judges were much less likely to turn round.

Didn't see much of last night's ep, just saw the last 4 or 5 people I think. That last guy was great, he sang that John Legend song beautifully. What a rich voice. Better than the girl that sang it before him.
