The direction of OcUK

I've been here a long time, and bought many things from the shop etc etc.

However, the recent direction OcUK seem to be taking is a little unsettling.

We (and I mean everyone here on the forums and at the shop) have turned this place in the the number one hardware and forum in the UK.

Why oh why are Ocuk now going down the route is it? Three examples:

1) booth babes *shudders* to help sell hardware at events, and the associate half naked girls draped over computer cases.
2) the thread with all the boobs/babes
3) the April fool 'porn' forum

I can't think of a worse direction the company could be going - very tacky.

I know it's all about separating yourself from the competition, but is this really the best you could come up with?

I think it's genuinely quite saddening.

Sure, it's ticks the boxes of all the horny, teenage geeks out there but, to be honest, I can find this rubbish anywhere over the internet with a few clicks of a button.

Why do OcUK think this is the way to go? Would love to hear more.

Am I the only one that is thinking this? Should I care?!....

Always had that attitude, never seen the pics of flash cars and "babes" used to advertise products in the shop? And babe threads are nothing new, they used to have them years ago.

beginning to have the maxpower/fast car additions not very keen on it maybe when i was younger yeah, dont see how this approach would influence people to buy cases etc
 
I'm not complaining because I really like boobs, but it really isn't family friendly like it's supposed to be.

Edit: I'm not talking about the Adult forum though, since that's been a joke here since before I joined.

Agreed, but i take far more issue with the 'booth babes' than anything else.

I can appreciate the april fools joke though as a bit of fun, it just happens to coincide with the cleavage day thread and the gadget show.

Hopefully the management will take note and take the right steps in promoting OcUK in a modern, mature way as a company dealing in computer components, not softcore pornography.

It matters to me certainly so i'm with you on this.

It's always been like this =\

Monitors have always displayed women. Porn forum has been a running joke for ages, and the forum is predominately middle aged men with a sense of humour. I'm aware we have ladies here too though...preferably browsing from a laptop, in the kitchen.

I do not see the problem atall. It's actually a little cringeworthy thinking you had a problem with the Adult section april fools. As I thought it was funny

Yeah, "booth babes" :rolleyes: Well I suppose PC gamers/hardware enthusiasts are seen as sexually inadequate hormonal teenagers anyway /sigh
 
I agree (not that I am against boobs) (I wish I was against a pair right now but....)

Yeah, it is tacky, and not family friendly, but lets face it, this is not a family friendly forum. And it should not pretend it is really, it's not fair on people who actually believe it and let their kids on here, before they realise that is.
