The direction of OcUK

One thing that confused me is that i keep getting Emails from OCUK business solutions one week then the next week its Maxpower boobs..

Can a company Be both?

This is how I see it:

Adult Forum = April Fool, ongoing joke for years... funny - no issues

Boob Thread = NSFW title, a bit of fun for the National awareness day thing - no issues

Gadget Show/Hot Women = Awesome, most companies do it, more business for OcUK... only a good thing.

What was the thread for again? Some people get annoyed by the oddest things! :)

Completely agree. I even had a look through the NSFW thread :-D (Obviously at home! Obviously grateful for it being marked NSFW lol).

The thread was basically worrying about the trend being taken with OcUK. I don't believe at any point someone said they don't like boobs lol. I personally don't want to see OcUK go down the smutty route, they are already VERY successful without resorting to that.

Some of the comments towards others for merely suggesting that they don't want to see OcUK smutty/tacky as a general trend, are downright pathetic.

Personally, I just don't want to be looking at a thread, and suddenly have a massive pair of knockers being thrust onto my screen (at work). At home... I don't particulary care... but I'm also mindful about the family friendly, and there is a difference between a woman in a bra, and a woman posing seductively on a bed, on in a seductive pose.

As was suggested.. basically it comes down to, I don't want to see this place get like a car magazine aimed at 20 somethings.

However, if 99% of the forum is saying that's what they want, then go for it, line the wall with boobies, as that's obviously the market.

OCUK's ongoing quest for tacky advertising continues. Shame really as I use OCUK because they always had the right balance of professionalism and "down to earth" friendly attitude. Their more recent offerings on the forums have just come across as crass...

I like bewbs as much as the next bloke. The babe thread (when it was still around) was fine as it was policed correctly. Always gonna get some who try and take things too far but wasnt expecting it to come from the mods. Its like a horny teenagers bedroom on the forums these days.

Still, I have no delusions as to the democratic nature of OCUK so if this is the route they are going down then I guess its like it or lump it.

To those that are suggesting there is nothing wrong with it, it's not airbrushed depictions of your bodies that are being using to sell something.

It's difficult to make a comparison because nothing about a male is used to sell anything, but for women their primary appeal is what they look like, to subvert that to flog tat to geeks isn't that respectful.

If you were a fairly average women with a few spots and belly fat, would you feel comfortable in a room full of blokes gawping at Miss Perfect. It would be like being the ugly bloke with BO trying to fit in at a cheerleaders birthday party.

A girl has come in here and basically said it's a bit off, surely that is reason enough to knock this on the head, well unless you really want an all male forum it is.

This really is about basic respect for others, it's bad form to **** of religious beliefs, peoples disabilities and their colour, this is the same thing, it's treating the bodies of one gender as a tool - this automatically degrades the gender as a whole.

And the no boobs = homo, god that is a cringeworthingly saddo comment to come out with, go get a gf and give us a break.

Now it's awkward that this topic ever needed a thread making about it because you get accused of making a big deal about it if you dare say anything. But think about what the phrase 'sex sells' is saying about you personally, that you can be manipulated by a set of plastic boobs into buying hardware that actually has no connection to those boobs in the first place. Sad eh?

Yes, stick women into adverts to sell something, but it's not very respectful to strip them down into their underwear to do it is it?

1) booth babes *shudders* to help sell hardware at events, and the associate half naked girls draped over computer cases.
2) the thread with all the boobs/babes
3) the April fool 'porn' forum

I too think it's tacky...

To a certain degree I agree but the age old story of 'sex sells' still holds true. Caseking are successful and b00bs certainly plays it's part.

I vote for going back to not crossing the line

I tend to agree with the above as why does anyone need to have half naked women to advertise their business? A prosperous business shouldnt / wouldnt need that type of advertising.

That is absolutely ridiculous... They aren'y even holding the products :roll eyes:

The banner at the top is safe for work, one might question if the above is safe for work, but I'm not going to argue that. What I want to argue* is that why the hell does OCUK feel they have to go down this route? They have been fine without it up until now. Wouldn't it have been better to have pictures of the latest products instead of the two women?

* I do not want to argue :( because I always lose :(

Have to say I agree with this post, you can't try to be all business one moment and then use boobs to sell the next moment.

Also some of the magazines that these type pictures are featured in have age limits to buy them, nuts, zoo and the likes. Is there an age limit to sign up to this forum?

You can't be family friendly with things in some places and totally ignore it in other areas.
