*** Official OcUK Minecraft Server - Discussion and Rules ***

See above for removing the MCR files. The render of the main world took me about 6 minutes and resulted in a 130mb png file which zoomit had no issues with. You should also be using the latest version of mcmap which is 2.3b. Here are the new coords for the expanded map size:

Main world - From: -259 -200, To: 242, 301.
Nether - From: -33 -25, To: 31 38.
The End - unchanged.

Hopefully you will be able to continue with the cartographs while FT continues to work on getting the live map fully operational.

Also if you hadn't already noticed there is a new recommended build of bukkit out for 1.2.4.

Forgot to reply to this plus I haven't had time to try it out yet! Thanks for the advise as ever Syl :D

I've not changed anything I don't think but it "seems" to be working okay now so it could have been my PC just being stupid. I've at least done the nether + the end without issues we shall have to see how the main map goes.

Thanks again for the help :)

Are there any underground dungeons/abandoned mine shafts on the server? Been roaming and digging since 1.1 but still haven't found any...

All I have found are huge caverns, ravines and underwater lakes.

Near my grinder there's a lot of half or unexplored mines, you're welcome to look around them, the only person other than me that explores them is hunter and he's just found a double spawner, so I think he's working on that or the zombie spawner he's found nearby. I'm happy with what I have at the moment so you can have whatever's not already been claimed in the area. :)

I'll show you where to go to explore them next time I'm on. My name's MeepBeepWhirr in-game.

We've already found 8 spawners in quite a small area (my grinder's a quad) so hopefully there'll be more :) Else I'm sure there's other treasures around.

Well since the server's been outdated and watching the Mindcrack UHC made me want to play again i've been doing some single player hardcore. I've lasted longer than i thought i would, never seem to be that good at games but i've got full iron, quite a few diamonds, enchanting table, nether wart farm etc. And i just found a wolf. Would have to be pretty stupid to die now (/jinx).

Not that anybody cares... :p

Speaking of UHC... anyone game for something similar on the server? If you don't know what i'm talking about:

Oh, and i think i've finally found a texture pack that doesn't make netherrack look terrible ;)

well looks like 1.2.5 will work with 1.2.4 servers

jeb_: As far as I know, the 1.2.5 client will be able to connect and play on 1.2.4 servers (about 2 hours ago from TweetDeck)

jeb_: Thanks! RT @zazra82: @jeb_ Already playing with pre 1.2.5 on a 1.2.4 server. so yes it works (about 2 hours ago from TweetDeck)

Looked really fun, would definitely be up for something like that.

Honestly when playing single player try a few mods. I used to hate the idea of IC2, buildcraft ect. But they do add so much more to the game.

If you don't try them you should at least try more creatures. This mod makes it scarey to go exploring again and adds so much more atmosphere with wildlife. If you think creapers are bad you not seen anything yet.

I'm not against mods by any means but i've never liked the idea of the Mo' Creatures mod. Just adding more content doesn't make the game better. I don't play minecraft because i want to be scared when i'm doing something that should be relatively mundane. I don't know why i play it, but i do know that that's not the reason ;)

The mod adds lots atmospheric creatures and you are able to turn of the hostile mobs that come with it. More water creatures/bunnies/birds/goats ect ect. In general makes the game feel more alive.

Running out of content/new things to do and see definitely contributed to me getting bored of the game.

However, I can also see your point to some degree.

Yes, but a game will always have a certain lifetime where you can play it religiously. Sometimes it's weeks. Sometimes it's years. And i mean, you can definitely 'recover' and come back to it at a later point. But personally i find adding a lot of quite pointless content that adds nothing to the actual experience in the hope of artificially extending this lifetime is just more likely to make you go off it sooner.

Each to their own i suppose.
