Do you think its worth starting an offical Thread With links in the opening post and a noobish guide for others who are getting invites that are new to the game.

My days, I made more typos in that like saying clarity potion instead of salve. I am just not functioning today!

Generally speaking there are items you get when you're winning to insure taht you stay winning like monkey king bar, sythe of (dammit can't spell the last word off the top of my head but called a sheep stick generally) and generally any heavy damage item.

Then are items like black king bar (kbk) that can change games and are very important on carrys and initiators so that team fights swing back your way. Other very important, but rarely seen in pub, items are the mek, pipe and urn. These are quite easy to get generally (excluding the pipe) and on a support hero they can be super effective and you should aim for them. Pipe is often seen on heroes like a venomancer.

I suspect that you can always get better info elsewhere online so we probably can't really add much extra to them and instead are best just pointing people in the direction of other websites.

+1 but I have only played LoL - Dota 2 is a learning curve (but not much of a big one than I thought)
 
i do like LOL but Dota 2 i had a little go at clartys house (Brother) im not to sure about it.... i think it because i am that used to LOL and need to get my head around the amount of champtions they offer etc.

While theyre of the same genre dota is less forgiving and has more to learn. I heard HoN is a near copy of dota and that it has equivalent champions aswell.
 
aye well i played HoN for a while but i didnt have a clue what i was doing. i am still going to give it ago like cos i did do well with tiny haha :D
 
erm well i did better than you anyways haha. it think it will take a while to adapt to the game cos its a different theme such as champs and game graphics etc. :P
 
I would avoid using LOL terminology like "champions" in dota 2. If you say that in chat you are going to need your flame jacket on. LOL players have a bad rep for ruining the dota 2 community.
 
I think you guys managed to sort the community out all amongst yourselves :) LOL is the only one that made any attempt to sort it out :)
 
They are called heroes in dota 2.

Decided to give dota 2 a chance again. Played one game. 5min in the hard carrys all decide they want to go on a ganking run and manage to get them selves not only killed but also underleveled in the process. I called GG 5min in but kept playing anyway. Before the enermy has even reached our barracks they have 41 kills to our 11. I have 3 deaths, the rest of my team spend their entire time dead. I just CANNOT get into a good team. Giving up with dota 2 until it's released I think.

Well I should be on tonight, Just need to make sure that TNA isnt using the account. From what I played the community is ok for the games I played. The only thing is people dont deny as much as I thought.

Am I correct in saying that you press 'a' to deny your own creep?

I think the community right now is actually quite relaxed with a large majority of new players coming in from a tonne of new keys being given out.

You still find the odd elitist whack who moans at the drop of a hat. I forgot to call missing once or twice when I was mid and got blamed for losing the whole game despite him (playing enchantress) who spent the whole game jungling and getting ganked.

This has been my experience lately too. I play well, usually about 2:1 KD with nice gold farm but there's only so much you can do when either playing against a stack or with complete morons.
 
Ah right, I dont know if it was a kid I was playing with the other day but he/she was f'ing and blinding calling everyone who did something against him (he was on the other team) I dont like people who abuse the chat, I also miss clicked a spell while I was faceless void and froze us around some creeps and they where going to report me :|

Me and my mates where like 'wtf is their problem' I apologised for doing it and nothing bad came of it. We didnt get ganked or anything. Just froze for about 5 secs lol.
 
I just had a game and won again. Nice when you are not on the team full of noobs, it helps. Managed to get quite a few kills this time because the others were risking it too much. Enjoying razor. Only died 3 times and got I think it was 8 assists. The most fun part was getting the sniper lady to chase me when I had 200hp, she was full. Then I got near tower and said better try killing her before her snipe cooldown is finished. So I did all my special moves and with the aid of the towers and grunts I got the kill and survived. Was satisfying that. I felt like typing "n00b" but i kept it to myself :p

Here is what I get at the start: 4 branches, some tango, and some salve. Keeps me in battle without needing to come home for some time :)

Then after that I tend to buy things I fancy. I like the item 2k i think it is that gives you 10+ on all attributes. Also there is one that is boots that makes you really fast. The other one I like is I think it was 4k, it makes attack more and attack speed a lot more, so once i get that, money starts pouring in due to so many last hits :D

Not watched or read to much as of yet. But I think I am doing ok. Much better than my first 2 games where I had little clue. lol. Now to watch a few razor vids and item ones. That way won't be super noob anymore.

btw sorry Kam for yesterday. A mate ended up coming down so I could not play. But no plans as such today, so hopefully will finally get some games with you.
