M4 SSD - This any good?

Installed Windows and that's it - know nothing about SSD's other than what people have raved about and it is quick!

But is this good?

I just got a 128GB M4 today, just installed it on SATA 3 Port and only getting the below....wonder why mine is lower read, but higher write??

@helpimc rap Shouldnt the write speed be double that? Mine is and the 'mega' test ones are?

Seems like you are using th Marval controller of the mobo!(Not sure if your mobo has got SATA III Intel ports?)

There are no Intel SATA 3 ports with the X58 chipset.

He'll be using a Marvell port:

Two (2) SATA3 6Gbps onboard ports from Marvell 88SE9128 Chipset

Tis what i thought.

Supposed to be around 550mb read as i think it has the updated firmware?
Write speed seems low but it seems to get a good result?

The 128GB version is used in the mega test: Sequential Write (up to): 220MB/sec.

helpim****, you have the 64GB version: Sequential Write (up to): 110MB/sec.

That's not going to do anything for those using a Marvell controller.

It may make a modest difference to the OP if he hasn't installed them already but the speeds he posted in the OP are already pretty close to the maximum quoted speed of the drive.

the 64GB drive has 1/2 the write speed of the 128. So looks about right.
