He took what, 6 years to produce the last one? He's not exactly known for his speed, so I very much doubt he'll knock out 2 books in 5 years. There are still a huge amount of threads to gather together if the 2nd next is to be the end of the series. Mind you, I suppose it depends what sort of arrangement he has come to with the production company.

I'd prefer he didn't rush them out. I believe this series to be among, if not the, premier fantasy fiction ever written. I'd hate to see it rushed to a conclusion just to meet a schedule.

There was only a two year gap between AGOT and ACOK and another two year gap for ASOS. It was only with the last two that he took five/six years. He has already written a couple hundred pages of the next book iirc.

Best show on tv by far. Just finished my third watch of series 1 on Blu Ray (gave my new Pioneer 5.1 setup a good test run. DTS HD Audio = mind blowing)
I must admint I was a little underwhelmed by season 2's 1st episode "The North Remembers"
Bound to get better though ;)

There's a lot of character establishment/re-establishment to do at the start of a series, especially when there is lots of new people to introduce such as at the start of book 2

One of the only things on TV worth watching, just rewatched season 1 to get up to date and it was as good as watching it the first time. let's just hope it doesn't give up half way through like most stuff these days.

20 mins in and on second ad break  ffs sky

Ahhh the joys of watching it on TV

One of the main reasons I stopped watching Most Haunted live on TV, now that had adverts!, sometimes 2 adverts in the space of 20mins and they were 5mins long

THAT was the main reason you stopped watching it!? Wasn't because the show is terrible or anything?

I recorded it and started watching at 9:15pm, by 10pm I'd caught up with the broadcast and had to watch a bloody ad break!

Nevertheless another awesome episode, interesting to see how it plays out with Tyrion!

So episode 2 - the good:

- Pyke looked amazing, I think Theon is great and his true character of being a complete nob is becoming evident now the Starks aren't there to keep him in check.
- Dragonstone scenes I liked, Sallador Saan was the loveable rogue he should be, Melisandre is mysterious and damn sexy. Stannis is growing on me.

the not so good:

- The King's Landing scenes have been underwhelming, I dunno but it seems like Tyrion isn't dominating the scenes as he should be.
- The story is diverging significantly from the book, this isn't necessarily bad but I get the impression it's been done to keep costs down.

Na I stopped watching it on TV, I still watched it via other means however it became so stupid I went over to Ghosthunters(taps) instead. Love the history and yes the ghost hunting :p... I used to do ghost tours for a living!

Arya continues to be awesome as she is in the books, but I think the guy playing Gendry is doing a good job. I didn't think Gilly would be as attractive as she is the show.

Had a chuckle at Robert from Emmerdale appearing in last week and this weeks episodes.
