Why is that video 20 minutes? I listened to the first 2 and gave up because nothing of substance had been said. Ironic he's criticizing GoT when producing garbage like that.

Yeah, I only watched the first episode of GoT, then came to comment here about how the rest of it was nothing of substance.

they made something massively impressive. As is obvious from the sheer amount of butthurt over the last couple of seasons. If they hadn't done such a good job with it, no-one would care. It doesn't make sense to ignore that.

It's a story as old as cinema. Wachowski's made Matrix by arguably propping themselves extensively on quite a few ghost writers remixing fanzine conspiracy memes (today's equivalent would be Mandela Effect youtube channels and such) but when they had to come up with plot themselves the sequels massively sucked. Star Wars worked as long as Lucas could riff ideas off Gary Kurtz, since the moment their collaboration ended Lucas hasn't managed to flesh out a single coherent page of ideas for the rest of his career. D&D created masterful adaptation of very average books, but the moment R.R stopped feeding them ideas, for all the millions they were paid, they couldn't do a justice to even a single plot line and literally torched their entire legacy (and let's hope careers) across 7 hours. The show deserved better, we deserved better, they were paid like no one else in history of television to be better and they still forked it up royally. For all the hours I spent on this series, I wish them all the worst, I hope they end up writing dialogs for dendrophile porn productions for the rest of their natural miserable washed up lives, the two donkey holes.

My mate had an accurate but odd description for the last season - "it's like those women who don't orgasm during sex - the build-up is great and they're really enjoying it but in the end there's no fireworks and they're left disappointed yet they still stick at it and give encouragement just in case one day the magic happens" :D

Regardless of your opinion on the the end season of GoT there's an amazing Documentary called "GoT the Last Watch" which covers the phenomenal work the production crew did and it's worth a watch I found.

While I agree the work they do is great to create the sets and all, I watched that docu and got a sense that everyone apart from the extras were truly fed up with the whole experience and the end couldn't come soon enough.

Crude and childish analogy if ever I read one, but I guess that the key difference is that the above is treatable/avoidable and the ending of GOT... wasn't. ;)

Sounds like he took on board the fans distaste for the final season so he's rewriting the ending to be better

Nah, the books and the series were always going to be different.

No way on earth GRR Martin finishes the series of books might as well consider them vapourware now.

Yeah. Some sucker will end up with a pile of notes and some half finished manuscripts and write the final conclusion to the series after GRRM dies. GRRM has lost the will and motivation to finish and now the story has been told so there's not even that to push forward. The whole series got away from him from around book 3.
