Naval War Arctic Circle

I'm very tempted to give it a whirl but the lack of an editor, with no imminent release for one is a down side. After playing Harpoon way back (on diskette) for many months over a serial cable, I really want to bring back the good times and give something from this genre a go however...

Yep got mine today just waiting till this evening. I miss Harpoon and hopefully they will continue doing stuff for this if it is well received which I think it will be critically. I am sure we will get a few more "boring as watching paint dry" comments but I find playing the same genre with the same mechanics over and over with a graphical update every year boring as hell.

Its possible that many on here are doing what your doing, waiting to see before putting hand in pocket to spend.. You will never find out that way, if your that tempted buy it and let all of us know…

Not sure whether you're deliberately being that humourless, HR4, but as it happens I'm in the middle of moving house and buying games isn't a priority right now. I am interested in reading impressions though.
 
Holy bad graphics batman! The idea of this sounds interesting and if gameplay is good I could be tempted, but nobody can deny the graphics are shocking for a 2012 game!!

I'm still sticking to wargame European escalation for now. I'll wait for reviews on this one.

Harpoon may have bad graphics too but it's years old so has an excuse!
 
I'll post my impressions when I've finished it or am further into it but I do like it but it is not Harpoon or has that kind of complexity if that is what people want to know. The lack of an editor is something that will make a difference for many and something they need to get into the game to create the longer sales curve you expect from Paradox stuff.
 
I am quite tempted because i remember playing harpoon with my dad many moons ago! But it really doesn't quite look up to par, maybe wait for a few patches and see.
 
OK finished it all now and I think it's a really good game. There needs to be added editor + unit encyclopedia but the core game is really good. The first few missions are doddle and are tutorials really after that it really ramps up into death by Backfire. :D
