**The Official Nokia Lumia 800 Thread***

Yea,I meant that no one should read these useless sites for un biased reviews, they are completely hopeless lol.

Engadget even went on to post a story about the 900 having trouble connecting to the ATT data network, turns out it was nothing to do with the Lumia, it was ATT not loading the settings for their network correctly and lots of other people with other model phones had trouble on their 4G network, of course, Engadget hasn't updated the piece.

Actually seems like a software bug from Nokia, they are offering $100 dollars as compensation (and possibly to tempt more buyers) A bit of irony for Nokia and it's smartphone Beta test advert :D
I do hope it does well though Wp7 I think has the best UI experience out there, and I have used as my personal phones IOS and Android. It just needs to catch up app wise, and I would like higher rez screens and more internal storage.

So what do you do? Keep looking until you find a review you like the sound of? I read the things about the connectivity issues and it does seem like its a nokia faulty software thing which wouldn't exactly be out of character for them.

Don't get me wrong, I love the look of this handset but all I'm saying is the reviews have been somewhat reserved.

just updated to 12070 and I'm getting 400-500mAh discharging :O!!!!

I have no clue why, the bass is fixed but the battery isn't lasting at all.

No No No, i know theirs plenty of problems and stuff missing from Mango etc, but it seems some ie, most, reviewers will pick up something that would be a problem on all phones, and stick with that, and take it like its the ONLY phone with these problems.

Had it since release but I've recently started experiencing terrible battery life, under 20 hours even though I'm not doing much with it.

Do you have the 12070 firmware update? If not then things will improve. I personally have yet to come across a single person that hasn't had a big improvement.

Considering getting one of these over an iPhone 4s for no good reason other than I just kinda want one... Thoughts?

I prefer WP7 over iOS (I may be a Fanboy though!) but the advice above of checking the Marketplace is a must. It's very limited compared to the iOS app store (for now) so please check it has the apps you'd most want.

Missus has had the white one for a few weeks now. Had a play (I have iPhone 4s) and have to say I really like it. Battery life does suck though, even after the update it needs charging every day. One other issue with it is just how easy it is to scratch the screen, guess it ain't gorilla glass.

Edit - a quick google says it is gorilla glass. Then why it scratches so easy is beyond me.

It is Gorilla glass (though it's not exactly hard to scratch Gorilla glass anyway).

Anyone know why "Speech for phone accessibility" can't be turned on, on a Vodafone Branded Lumia 800?

Useful to have it say the name of the caller especially when you're wearing a bluetooth headset.

Hmmm. This seems strange. Under a lot of usage the 4S and the Lumia 800 should last about the same.

I can get 2 days from my 800 if I am careful. I normally get a day and a half.

As for the glass, I've only seen 1 scratched so far and that was dragged along the pavement and had chunks missing out of the screen.

Completely up to you if you think you value the extra screen space, also the 900 is built a little differently as you DON'T have the nice touch of the curved glass that looks likes its rising or floating on the 800 body, the 900 its just a straight up flat piece of glass.
I personally prefer the size of the 800 as it "feels" like slick device in the hand.
Though I MAY treat myself to a white one soon lol.
