Yep I heard it in North Swindon too, sounded nothing like thunder, more like an explosion or a single sonic boom. :confused:

We had a massive bang, but I'm 90% sure it was thunder, although it was quite a long time...

Earlier today we had thunder and lighting here in Cardiff. When I first heard the thunder I thought a plane blew up in the sky. Was very odd, Car alarms were going off.

I reckon it's a nasty bit of thunder.

Hm, asked downstairs (ive had headphones on last hour) and my Mum said something about hearing a large bang/boom in the distance, but just thought it was lightning...

Yep, Rugby here too - thought it was a sonic boom tbh, there was a loud noise coming from 'somewhere up there' for a while after. I thought it was the cider
