Best Sata III SSD/HDD

Intel looks to be the best as they give you software to help keep your SSD in good condition but I kind of figure that at real world performance you can't tell a blind bit of difference between them.

Okie Dokie so Intel ships with a little bit of shiny software :p I think Ill probably go corsair see'ing as thus far they are doing quite well for me xD

I like corsair too, got my self a 240GB force 3. The difference between the force 3 and the GT is that the GT has pretty much double the read speed of incompressible data. That is 250MB/s vs 500MB/s or something like that. I won't pretend to know a lot about the subject but I just happened to see some reviews while going through the internet some time ago. I don't know how often one comes across incompressible data or if the difference is noticeable in real world performance.

You will find this same difference compared to the m4 and intel as well. Drives like the agility 3 will be the same as the force 3.

Bare in mind that it won't last long. After formating and the OS is installed you're looking at having about 50-55GB left.

Also worth noting that the corsair SSD's come with a mounting plate, I dunno about the others.

Yeah I know. Ill just put Skyrim on it or something xD I have an external for my storage needs though it is only 2.0 which is a bit of a shame but ah well it works well. :)

you want corsair gt as it uses better nand, force series use cheaper asynchronous nand, perfomance drops off when drive fills up

i have a 60gb corsair gt and right now with windows ultimate 64bit i have 22gb left,id go for the 120gb drive if you can stretch to it

It's a shame I didn't pick a GT up instead of my force 3 really but I'll live.

Kingston uses asynchronous nand(poorer)

Corsair Gt uses synchronous, all those drives I listed above use synchronous
