Gmail is the dogs danglies when it comes to email. Only people I know who don't want to use it whinge about google owning too much of their data.

I currently use Yahoo and have done so since 1998 when the BBS for the email account I had been using since the 80's went offline. I went with Yahoo because I wanted web based mail like my BBS account and didn't like the idea of POP stuff stored locally in outlook and Yahoo and Hotmail were the only two options then.
