Accessing server mail on mobile?

Hi all,


I have a domain and email which I access via thunderbird.
What I would like to do is be able to look at any new mail on my Android. Problem is once I 'read' the mail on my phone - will I then have to resend it to myself to be able to get access to it on my PC?

Or, if I mark the mail as 'unread' from android, should I still be able to download once on PC?

Finally, what is a good email app for Android?
At the moment, I am accessing the mail on my phone via 'webmail' which is on my control panel inside vidahost. Which is a bit long winded.

Use IMAP rather than POP3 and you won't have to worry about messages being removed once read.

Androids have a built in email client, you tried that?

Got my domain mail setup in mail app via imap along with hotmail and Gmail

Work's fine

Nope just goes in and syncs mate

Thanks, but are you not worried that if you were to loose your phone your emails and data were to be at risk?

Not really, I've never lost a handset yet and as I've just purchased a £479 HTC One X I don't plan to start any time soon

I'm more worried about getting my photos back than a handset and some emails tbh...
