Cruise control at 70, keep to the left, unless someone is annoying me. I don't like to rush my journeys now, just like to cruise along and relax - laughing at the idiots on the road :)

Most people I mean, do more than 3 miles commuting to work. Therefore I know you probably won't even go near a motorway every week, probably monthly too.

You act as confused as you like but not everyone is like that. Your spreadsheet mind tells you that 'WHATEVER I SAY IS KING'....you're just delusional at times.

You're lucky to even be able to hit 70 on the M25!
 
I don't really fall into any of those categories. I suppose a bit of KLC (only sensibly, looking ahead and properly using indicators/mirrors/blindspots), and PMT in that I'll be at 60 if I'm not in a rush so I can save fuel.
 
My view is that motorway driving is dull no matter how fast you go and an extra 10mph isn't going to make a massive difference to time. So I sit back and relax at 70 and enjoy better fuel economy.

And I thought 77mph was the golden number for fuel economy?

Actually, here's one, which also applies to contraception:

Pohis - Pull out, hope it's safe! The people I mentioned previously who just stick their indicators on, and think it's safe to blindly change lane with no regard for the vehicle bearing down on them at 20mph faster than they're going.

apt name, unless you never venture above 60mph. No-one drives how they are supposed to on the motorway all the time because other road users make it impossible.

I'd class myself as a mixture of PMT & CCJ depending on the vehicle i'm driving and the traffic conditions & I firmly believe that everyone else should be KLC :p

Sounds like quite a tiring way of using cruise. Just try to read ahead a bit more and if you do need to drop speed knock the cruise off early, coast down until you have a gap to overtake and hit resume.

I only ever set the cruise once for a set speed limit then just toggle off and resume if I need. Well... In the Octavia anyway. Annoyingly the Punto loses its set speed when deactivated so the resume button is only any use if you touch the brakes.

You're right I don't use the resume feature as I should be. I'm actually a bit scared of using it as the acceleration can be a little surprising (ST220).

lol? 6th gear acceleration from below 70 in the st220 is far from "surprising" lol...below 3k rpm, it has less than 100bhp infact even if the cruise control was to use full throttle.

I'm not saying it's quick or even as quick as I could do it myself.

I'm just not quite comfortable yet allowing software to automatically accelerate the big hunk of metal I'm sat in. Maybe it's because I'm a software developer and don't trust other people to get it right :)

I think it'll just take time for me to build up trust in it.

....if it does something other than expected, just press the brake. or the cruise off button.
