**NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 680 4GB ARRIVING NEXT WEEK - PRE-ORDER NOW!!**

Hi guys i know i might be biteing at the ned of the computer desk here but does anyone know when Gainwards Phantoms are coming out? No that i in patience or anything like that but it just i been searching high a low on the net for info on them and cant find head or tail of them Speaking of which Gainwards site dont have the 4GB listed yet tho there is one but Not seen one.
Saying that is there a problem getting the Gainwards phantoms as such? as the 2GB not come in from what i seen as it was ment ot be in on the 13th, so just thinking if anyone knows any info about whats going off regarding them.
Sorry for the long post but its just praying on my mind a little cause i ordered the 4gb one and not seen the 2gb one of it come in so just wondering if there is a problem, i know the 4gb should come in tomorrow just wondering if someone might have a bang on date for them.

oh yea for sure, but dont forget that the 680 is more power efficient than the 580, so it will follow that the 690 will be better than the 590.

Still not seeing a selling point for it at all. That's not a benefit of a dual GPU card, that's just the benefit of Kepler over Fermi :)

yea' all i see on the web is it might run hot and it's definitely a detuned version of the 680.... plus it requires me to upgrade my PSU as well and i'm definitely not happy about this... never have been !

Don't get it then - get a single GPU card. 680 or 7970 in a few months time should be available at a snip compared to current pricing. Still going to set you back though...

Hi there

Just an update:-

Gigabyte GTX 680 - 100+ in stock!
KFA2 GTX 680 - 100+ in stock!
Gainward GTX 680 - 50 in stock!
Palit Jetstream GTX 680 4GB - 55 in stock!

No ETAs or at least accurate ones right now on other models, but needless to say OcUK has plenty in stock of the above models. :)

Is this the KFA2 GeForce GTX 680 EX OC 4096MB GDDR5? If so, are pre-orders shipping today?

Metro is a good example, now both the 7970 and the 680 in SLI; blew the dual card out of the water, i never realised this.

bloody hell, over 130FPS in 1080p for Metro, but for FAR CRY 2, a truly massive 265 FPS....Fuczing Hell that's huge ..... why am i waiting for the GTX 685, because i dont need it, not now and not in 3 years.

and to be honest i dont really want to wait till August either, i'm getting fed up with no PC

I will be in no rush to change my card. It plays everything I own effortlessly. If it struggles at any stage, I could be tempted to throw in another however I worry about my PSU, as it is only 750W.

your psu should be ok, it's mine that'll need an upgrade..but the 750W only costs £65 so that's ok as well.

i think two single cards are more than a dual card, but i can sort that out later on, it only takes 5 mins on google to find out.

Given up on tweak-town to be honest, like the last reviews they refuse to post overclocked single card 7970 results alongside the 680.

They did it for the original 680 review and gave a bull excuse for not including them.

The only review sites I trust at moment for Graphics card reviews are Techreport and HardOCP. The fact that I trust HardOCP reviews more than Anandtech now says a lot.

And who runs their 7970 Crossfire setup at 1075/6600? either they got duff cards or they running them in a sub-tropical region.

With things OC'd, I would think I am on my limit, so if I did SLI, I would buy another PSU.

yea but i have no DVD drive, i only have one hard drive and nothing else, my pc looks quite empty inside .

you are deffo ok with yours, because i am even with mine, but the dual card with OC is 750W, i think having two separate cards is slightly more.

you are ok with yours right down to 550W..... which is a surprise yes

I agree, Tweak town is a terrible review site.
