The *Official* Eve Online Thread

It's full size. No smaller trial DL like with wow.

3-4GB I think.

The price rises will not lead to less capitals.

If anything higher death penalties will lead to more hot drops and blobbing as people will be even more risk adverse.

Kamwah, go Google "Guiding Hand Social Club". EVE is so incredibly broad and deep it's really hard to summarise but it's basically the only game where intrigue like that happens.

There's this core fiction in EVE (several novels, short stories, mission fluff text) but the stuff that really counts is player drama. People do stuff in EVE and it is legendary. The first titan ingame (huge doomsday weapon like the deathstar) was called Steve. People still remember steve getting exploded even people who were never there.

Not really. Your only meaningful option if you want to reactivate your old account is if it has over 500mill of liquid ISK you can get it temporarily reactivated free of charge and then go and buy a PLEX in game which will gave you a month of 'free' play.

If you just want to review the gameplay generally and are willing to start a new account, a current subscriber can send you a 'buddy' trial for 21 days.

If you want to avail of this, send me your email address to my trust address and I'll sort you out (though any other subscriber can do the same).

Cant remember how much ISK i had , 100 million i think , it was the commissioned officer pack so dont realy want to start a new account as it has about 6 months of skill training.
Going to start a trial account for 14 days to see if its worth re-subbing.

I was there was another game as deep like eve is & the features. I have times I want to comeback, but I am nuts, cause I always do, end up bored, then leave.

I know the feeling. Join Red vs Blue, fit a load of T1 fitted frigs and lose them all hilariously. That's what I did on one of my re-subscriptions and I had fun for months.

We're here to help. Seriously anything you could possibly want to know is there.

http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Fihttp://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Fitting_Guidelines

Read that for general help with how to fit your ship (the in game tutorial is horrible for this).

Assuming you have just started, follow the tutorial missions and complete each of the mission chains from the career agents you will be directed to (if you lose the list, press F12, go to the tutorials tab and look for career agents button at the bottom of the window). Each chain will tell you about different aspects of the game, however you may want to skip industry for now as it's a bit **** for a new player. All the chains will give you items, skill books, isk and many, many new ships.

Also make sure you READ THE MISSION TEXT, a few of the military missions rely on you doing something specific, including purposefully losing a ship they will give you.

Signed up for a trial account last week and last night I had finally completed all the tutorials!! :D

Time to make some money/kill something!!

I'm looking to be a PvPer in the future and also dabble in industry. Any suggestions what I should do first? i was thinking of doing a little mining to get used to how it works and also running missions, mainly security ones.

Any tips from you veterans will be appreciated.

Getting used to the UI when doing combat is always a plus, so run a few missions to familiarize yourself with it all.

If you are looking to pvp there's little advice better than fitting up some ships and heading out to low-sec and see what mischief you can get into. Keep in mind that you generally need an income to pvp as lost ships are expensive!

A guide that helped me when I started out pvp/piracy was the rifter guide. It focuses on one cheap, cost effective and decent little boat and goes into pretty great lengths about pvp mechanics you will need to understand in order to be successful.

Another alternative is to join RvB or EvE University and get some pvp that way. Googling them both should let you know what they are about!

Best of luck mate ;)
