Guild Wars 2

Equally stupid is taking something out of context. It was a one word light-hearted statement in a thread that seems to have got rather dark and bitter over the last few pages on what should be a week everyone here is really looking forward to. But hey if you want to play internet angry man then knock yourself out we've still got over a day's worth of time to kill.

aye I'm pretty sure it was meant as a joke lets move on :D ..it was just me been slow on the pickup.

I hope the weather stays like this all weekend, nice heavy rain! :D ........ANYTHING to stop the missus wanting to drag me out of the house at least. :p

I want mine out of the house and the kids - peace and quiet. I have appropriated (not using uTorrent of course heaven forbid) the last season of Grey's Anatomy so she can curl up and watch Dr Sexy or whatever the hell his name is whilst I can get some peace and quiet in the evening.

Last question, in which folder should i run the executable gw2.exe?

Anywhere except program files :>

the .dat files which store all the data appear in the same folder as GW2.exe, personally i have a folder on the root of my C: drive called "games" which was made by world of tanks a while back, seemed like a good place for a GW2 folder :p

If it's sunny = i get dragged out, if it's raining = missus and child are in causing havoc but at least i can slip off for gaming time :p

Still havent received my client download email xD what on earth is going on

Same here, however I downloaded the client and have it installed ready to go.

On starting it up you should see a message to say your account is all ready to play however there are no servers online.

I just made a GW2 folder in my download folder and chucked it in there as the said to not have it in the programs folder. My logic being I often look in my downloads folder (not for illegal torrents mind) and would remember to delete it when the full game is out - otherwise I'd just leave the 13gb lying somewhere and forget where I put it and am far too lazy to search - gw2.exe.

I downloaded the file to me D drive (which I use for all my games) and I run the game from there (same folder I d/l into)

Not sure if thats the correct way but works for me.

It's a difficult one this though normally you'd want to go where all your normal allies and enemies are to fight them in PVP but in this case it means for the significant stuff you don't want to be where they are so you actually get to fight them. Really don't know what server we are going on now - don't really want to be fighting against a few guilds who have some rather suspicious practices.

Your attitude stinks, to be honest. You waltz around the GW threads as if you are some arch-authority on it. I played Guild Wars from release and hardcored the hell out of it before any of the booster packs were released. Before I even got into WoW. Who are you to say my opinion is invalid on GW? Especially when I'm discussing the social dynamics and atmospherics, i.e. nothing to do with concrete gameplay. My point about pre-Battlegroup PVP in WoW being better than post-Battlegroup PvP was that everyone knew one another. Hardly a point that carries no analogy or cogency for a GW player, is it?

Get off your high horse mate.

If anyone thinks that WoW PVP is better than GW PVP, then I have no reason at all to take them seriously.

It doesnt matter how much you have played either game, theres simply no comparison between the PVP parts of both the games.

What is it with this forum recently. It would seem every MMO thread turns into childish bickering between the same people who just can't let things go.

Like the game, don't like the game but for the love of god just move on.

Where did I say that WoW PVP was better than GW PvP? Again, you're letting your elitist, condescending attitude get in the way of your basic reading interpretation. I was comparing pre-BG WoW to post-BG WoW in terms of community, not comparing WoW to GW at all.

Although of course you're too busy huffing and puffing and trying to establish your GW credibility to care to actually read, it seems.

In your opinion. :)

In your opinion. :)

Judging by your posts, I'd be surprised if you've even played GW1, let alone the PVP, nor understand any of the balancing mechanics for equal play between the two teams in GW.

Gear / stat orientated games like WoW will never have a comparable PVP mechanic to PVP revolved around balance and ensuring that all players have an equal footing regardless of what items they have equipped.
