I use mine an awful lot. I got my other half one for Christmas (he asked for it) but he doesn't seem to have used his that much.
waste of money.

There is also a massive amount of ebooks that are cheaper then the physical copy? What's your point?
We've already covered the fact that something they are and sometimes they're not. Whether or not they're subject to VAT is not the sole determinant.
Interesting. I imagine that'll be an anomaly that becomes increasingly pertinent.
One of the best things about Kindle (if you're a very fast reader) is that you can buy a book, read the whole thing, then return it for a refund.
I'm not sure how long you get before the option to refund disappears from the 'Manage my Kindle' part of the account. But I've been able to beat it on 11 out of the last 14 or 15 books I've bought.![]()
I'm only following their own t&c's, it's not my fault I learned to read.![]()
If you are buying from Amazon though then it should only be 3% VAT as you're effectively buying it in Luxembourg, doesn't really add all that much.
I'd have to look back through VATA 1994 to check the position on the delivery of goods of this sort, but I'm pretty sure it would be subject to VAT in the country in which it's received i.e. the UK.
I don't know why it would be VAT in the sellers location rather than the buyers, but I know the prices changed in January when the Luxembourg VAT rate did and there're plenty of articles on the web talking about exactly this.
